(Minghui.org) On April 25, 2012, Falun Dafa practitioners in Korea held three press conferences in memory of the peaceful appeal that took place on that date 13 years ago in China. That day, practitioners in China went to Beijing to ask the authorities to release the practitioners who had been illegally arrested previously in Tianjin and to be allowed to follow their spiritual practice without restriction.

The press conferences were held in front of the Chinese Embassy in Seoul, the Chinese Consulate-General in Busan, and the Chinese Consulate-General in Gwangju. It was raining, and the mood was peaceful and solemn. The Falun Dafa Association in Korea made the following demands: “In China, the persecution of Falun Gong initiated by former Chinese leader Jiang Zemin and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) should stop immediately. (The CCP) should redress its policies on Falun Gong and compensate its practitioners completely for the damages and losses they have suffered.”
The statement stressed that “The CCP’s crime of stealing organs from living Falun Gong practitioners for profit has been made public. Those who committed such crimes will be punished….. those who participate in the persecution of Falun Gong will be tried in the justice system.”

Huang Xiaomin, former swimmer on the Chinese national team and an Olympic champion, said in her statement, “The persecution of Falun Gong is still ongoing in China. I hope the day when Falun Gong practitioners in China can practice freely will come soon.”
Falun Dafa practitioners have explained the facts about the persecution in front of the Seoul Immigration Office every day for the past four years
Falun Dafa practitioner Jin Xiuhong has gone to the Seoul Immigration Office every day since he retired in 2008. At the press conference he said, “I have to let the citizens know that the CCP has been brutally persecuting and torturing practitioners for the past 13 years.”
In their statement for the press conference in Busan, practitioners told the history of the incident of the peaceful appeal in front of China’s State Council 13 years ago. They also mentioned that Falun Gong is now practiced in over 100 countries and areas worldwide and has brought physical and mental health to its practitioners. They concluded by warning that “the authorities who participate in the persecution of Falun Gong will soon meet their end.”

A taxi driver in his 50s at the press conference was already well aware of the persecution, saying, “The CCP is a bad influence on Korea and on mankind as a whole. The CCP should step down as soon as possible.”
A Korean public official who was following the press conference closely said, “We initially believed the CCP’s lies. Whenever Falun Gong practitioners had an activity, we were nervous and would mobilize the police to be on the alert. Now we know what practitioners are really all about, and there is no need for any police.” Other public officials also expressed their wish for the persecution to end soon.
After the press conference, an official from the Foreign Affairs of Haeundae Police Bureau took the statement and passed it to the Chinese Consulate in Busan.
