(Minghui.org) At approximately 3:00 p.m. on March 19, 2012, police officers from the Domestic Security Division, Guandu District, Kunming City arrested Mr. Hou Wenqin as soon as he arrived at his work place. They ransacked his home. Mr. Hou Wenqin is currently detained in the Detention Center of the Guandu District, Kunming City.
Police officers said that Mr. Hou’s supervisors reported him to the police because he told people the facts about Falun Gong, gave them Shen Yun DVDs and informational materials at his workplace. That is the reason why he was arrested and his home was ransacked.
In the second half of the year 2001, the director of the Kunming Water Conservancy and Hydroelectric Power No. 14 Sub-Bureau forced Mr. Hou to leave his position and wait for another job assignment. He did this under the pretext that Mr. Hou had practiced Falun Gong and read Zhuan Falun at his workplace. Over the past decade, he was paid only 200 yuan per month, from which insurance was deducted for living expenses. After he was forced to leave his position, he worked for an express courier until his arrest.
