Three Retired Women from Anyang City, Henan Province Secretly Sentenced

May 8, 2012 |   By a Minghui correspondent from Henan Province, China

(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners Ms. Liu Fenglan, Ms. Chen Xuesheng, and Ms. Li Hui have been detained in the Anyang City Detention Center for over five months. The Anyang District Court secretly tried and sentenced Ms. Liu without notifying her relatives. It is currently not clear if Ms. Chen and Ms. Li have been tried or not.

Ms. Liu Fenglan, Ms. Chen Xuesheng, and Ms. Li Hui are all retired. Their relatives are very worried about them.

Ms. Liu’s husband is a retired police officer. Her family members have suffered significantly, both physically and mentally, as a result of the persecution. Her husband’s mental endurance has reached its limit because Ms. Liu has been persecuted so many times.

Ms. Chen Xuesheng has been taking care of her bedridden father. Her father is seriously ill, and at his age can't face living without her.

Ms. Li Hui’s parents are not in good health. Her only daughter is in Australia.

The family members of Falun Gong practitioners see their relatives unreasonably detained, and their homes ransacked again and again. But they have no place to appeal and can't protect or rescue their relatives. They themselves are subjected to coercion and intimidation.

On September 23, 2009, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Shi Yan'e was taken from her home and sent to a detention center by the police, led by team leader Bai Dongming from the Wenfeng District National Security Team in Anyang City. Ms. Shi Yan'e’s husband was in his prime of life, but suddenly passed away due to the high pressure of daily terror. Members of her family went to the Wenfeng District National Security Team to ask for her release, or at least for Ms. Shi to be permitted to attend her husband’s funeral. But the request was rejected by the case personnel. A few days later, the persecution material was transferred to the court and Ms. Shi was sentenced to a three-year prison term by the Wenfeng District Court.

On June 8, 2010, Ms. Wang Fang, a Dafa practitioner living on West Street, Wenfeng District, who was in her thirties, was arrested. Her three young daughters, husband, and sick mother-in-law were left at home. Seeing Wang Fang, the pillar of the family, be sent off to jail was truly a disaster for this family. Soon after this arrest, her husband passed away in pain. The persecution of Falun Gong has resulted in many broken families. There have been innumerable family tragedies in China like this during the past thirteen years.

For example, in early 2012, the Anyang City Public Security Bureau was openly recruiting for public security auxiliary staff positions, which are not part of civil service. However, for this common and temporary auxiliary work, the job description clearly stated that those with a Falun Gong practitioner in their bloodline or who is a significant collateral blood relative are not allowed to apply. This shows how the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) deprives the right of employment from Falun Gong practitioners and their relatives. The CCP uses all power available to eliminate Falun Gong.

This is a true portrayal of human rights abuses in the harmonious society that CCP advertises and boasts about.

The persecution has been extended to every corner of society and family.

We call on the international community, and righteous people at home and abroad to continually pay attention to the persecution, which is happening in China every day. The persecution endangers the life and safety of every Falun Gong practitioner, their relatives and friends. We call on all kind people of the world to help these innocent people and their families reunite as soon as possible, as well as to jointly safeguard justice and immediately stop this inhuman persecution of over thirteen years!
