(Minghui.org) On February 25, 2012, the home of Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Wang Xiaodong was raided by the Botou Domestic Security Division. Mr. Wang was arrested and taken away, leaving behind a seven-year-old child and his mother who is over seventy years old. The officers showed no arrest warrant or other documentation. When the perpetrators ransacked his home, boxes of CDs containing information about Falun Gong and the persecution were found. The officers also took a large amount of cash and other valuables including computers and electronic equipment.
The illegal arrest of Mr. Wang, a highly regarded teacher in his village, aroused the anger of his fellow villagers. In April, each of the 300 families in the village sent a representative to sign a petition demanding that the Botou City Procuratorate release Mr. Wang.
It has been reported that the officially stamped appeal letter containing the joint signatures and thumbprints of 300 people caused a major stir in the Political Bureau of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Central Committee. The letter was circulated internally within the CCP Standing Committee.
Since then, the local branch of the Central Political and Legislative Affairs Committee, representing Zhou Yongkang, began to counterattack. They colluded with Fuzhen Township government staff in Botou City to intimidate and threaten the villagers who signed the letter. They also ordered villagers to sign cards printed with slanderous misinformation about Falun Gong.
During the past 13 years of the persecution of Falun Gong, every Chinese has played a role: There are Falun Gong practitioners who were persecuted while adhering to their faith; there are people who support justice and protect the persecuted Falun Gong practitioners; there are village officials who stopped persecuting practitioners and chose to side with justice after learning the truth; and there are the followers of Jiang Zemin's group, who perpetuate the persecution.
Through the action of these 300 villagers standing up on behalf of a Falun Gong practitioner, we gain a strong sense of the true public opinion of the Chinese people who are awakening after learning the truth about Falun Gong and the persecution. Today, every person is facing a choice. Everyone is positioning themselves in the face of good vs. evil. People are realizing that they need to stop the persecution, support righteous faith and punish the evildoers. This change in the collective understanding of the people is leading to historic change in China.
In the Face of Tyranny, Chinese People Are Choosing Justice
In fact, occurrences similar to the 300 people signing a petition are happening more and more in China now. Last year, 2,300 people in Changli County, Hebei Province, the hometown of Falun Gong practitioner Zhou Xiangyang, signed a letter to support his appeal of an unjust sentence. After Ms. Zhou's wife Li Shanshan was arrested, more than 500 people signed a letter calling for her release.
On March 17, 2012, during the illegal trial of Falun Gong practitioners Zhao Yuan, Zhang Baosheng, Wang Jinyu and Cheng Baoying by the Acheng District Court in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, five lawyers strongly defended the Falun Gong practitioners. In their defense they stated: “We have witnessed Falun Gong practitioners defending the truth, their firm faith, perseverance and peaceful and rational petition. After being brutally persecuted for many years, they still adhere to their belief and adhere to the moral conscience of good people. We are amazed by the unyielding spirit of Falun Gong!”
According to a Minghui.org report, in April 2010, 376 villagers in Qingyuan County, Liaoning Province, collectively signed a complaint letter concerning Falun Gong practitioner Xu Dawei who died as a result of torture at Dongling Prison. According to officials in the political and legal system, Zhou Yongkang, the head of the Central Political and Legislative Affairs Committee, ordered an investigation into the “joint letter event.” The villagers who signed the letter were asked who initiated the event and were threatened and intimidated by the government.
On December 21, 2010, in Zhongsheng Village, Shangjieji Township, Fujin City, Heilongjiang Province, Falun Gong practitioner Yuan Yulong, his son Yuan Shoujiang and daughter-in-law Gong Jinfen were illegally arrested by CCP police. Ninety-five percent of the villagers, including village cadres, stated in a written document that the three Falun Gong practitioners were noble and good people, and they demanded their immediate release. This event also caused a stir. When Falun Gong practitioners were abducted by the authorities, nearly all the villagers courageously stood up and spoke out for justice.
In February 2009, there was another joint letter produced by people seeking justice for Falun Gong practitioners in Fushun, Liaoning Province. At that time, Falun Gong practitioner Xu Dawei, who lived in Yingemen Township, Qingyuan County, Fushun City, Liaoning Province, was released after being tortured for eight years in prison. He suffered long-term and horrific cruelty in prison: long-term handcuffing and leg shackles, brutal beatings, being hung up by his wrists, forced-feeding, and beatings with batons covered with plastic. He was stabbed with needles, shocked with electric batons, and injected with nerve-damaging drugs, as well as subjected to various other methods of torture. When he was released, his family had to go to the hospital to get him. Xu Dawei died thirteen days later. He was only thirty-six years old. Out of indignation, local villagers organized two truck-loads of people to go to the prison and appeal for justice. When prison officials refused to respond, 376 people from five villages signed their names on a complaint letter exposing the persecution carried out at the prison.
In June 2009, Falun Gong practitioner Zheng Decai from Guangmingshan, Dalian City, Liaoning Province was illegally arrested by the local police. In March the following year, more than eight village families signed a joint letter expressing their support for Falun Gong and calling for Zheng's release.
This recent event of an entire village of 300 families choosing to support a Falun Gong practitioner who is being persecuted is a profound act of Chinese people choosing justice in the face of ongoing tyranny. Mengzi (Mencius) stated: “Not corrupted by wealth, not shaken by poverty, not giving in to power. This is a real man.” The history of good defeating evil was written by those real men who do not give in to power. Small streams merge to become rivers. These magnanimous acts of the Chinese people will decide the future of China.
Huge Change Begins as People Awaken
The damage done to Chinese society by Jiang Zemin's political group over the thirteen-year persecution of Falun Gong cannot be measured. The abuses of law and human rights, the moral and ethical decay, the huge consumption of the national economy, and the destruction of outstanding talents; the CCP criminals have left the whole country and nation to bear a heavy price.
Good and evil are as different from each other as are fire and ice. The event of 300 villagers jointly signing a letter to seek justice for a Falun Gong practitioner allows people to discern right from wrong and good from evil. This act will inspire more Chinese people to choose good over evil and will lead China to a new epoch.
This is the kind of event most feared by Jiang Zemin's regime. If more such acts spread throughout China, it will be their end and they will not be able to escape justice. Those who have participated in the persecution must refuse to continue doing evil and choose to do good. They must quickly seize this window of opportunity to make up for the damage they have caused to Falun Gong practitioners.
As one representative after another of Jiang Zemin's group is being stripped of power, the Chinese people will soon find that the imminent historic changes taking place in China are closely related to Falun Gong. As more and more of the truth is made known, more people are choosing justice. Historical changes will truly manifest.
