(Minghui.org) Mr. Zheng Xiangxing is a resident of the 10th Farm inTanghai County, Hebei Province, and the owner of the Xingyun Home Electric Store there. After Mr. Zheng was illegally arrested on February 25, 2012, a total of 562 villagers from the 10th and 11th Farms jointly signed a petition with their real names and fingerprints in an unprecedented effort to rescue him. Since then, despite being harassed and threatened by authorities, local villagers have continued to come to Mr. Zheng's home to inquire about his situation.

Mr. Zheng was put on trial on May 29, 2012. Fellow villagers anxiously awaited the outcome of the proceedings. Subsequently, they learned from the court recording that the defense lawyer had argued that practicing Falun Gong and distributing informational materials about Falun Gong are not crimes per the Chinese Constitution. The judge and the prosecutor did not respond and ended the trial promptly. Many villagers expressed anger, believing that Mr. Zheng should have been released.

One elderly lady's electric bike was recently broken and she took it to Mr. Zheng's shop to be repaired. Mr. Zheng's wife asked her to take it elsewhere, but the lady insisted on keeping it there until Mr. Zheng comes back. She hoped that Mr. Zheng would be released soon.

Mr. Zheng's Wife and Another Practitioner Arrested

Since June 10, 2012, the news of the righteous villagers from the 10th and 11th Farms jointly appealing to rescue Mr. Zheng has been reported by various overseas media.

At around 4 a.m. on June 13, 2012, Li Fuguo, director of the Tanghai County Domestic Security Division, police officer Sun Jingsen and several other officers came to the 10th Farm and ordered local officials and police to help them arrest Mr. Zheng's wife and other Falun Gong practitioners. Sun Jingsen and others arrested Mr. Zheng's wife and Ms. Sun Suyun around 7 a.m. Li Fuguo tried to arrest another practitioner, Mr. Fang Zi, but Mr. Fang managed to escape.

After Mr. Zheng's wife was arrested, the villagers became even more concerned about Mr. Zheng and his family. When an elderly villager heard about their situation, he said that he felt really sad. Last year, he had come to Mr. Zheng's store with his child. When Mr. Zheng saw that they had difficulty returning home, he drove them home, even though it was far away.

Ms. Sun Suyun Tortured in Custody

Following her arrest on June 13, 2012, Ms. Sun Suyun was tortured in custody by Li Fuguo, Sun Jingsen and others until her body couldn't stop twitching. To shun responsibility, Li Fuguo then sent her to a hospital. After her family members repeatedly requested her release, she was finally sent home.

Li Fuguo ordered local officials to monitor Ms. Sun's parents' home, as well as Mr. Zheng's store. He also threatened to arrest other Falun Gong practitioners.
