Calgary, Canada: Introducing Falun Gong on Heritage Day

Aug. 16, 2012 |   By a Falun Gong Practitioner in Canada

(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners in Calgary participated in the 38th Heritage Day in Alberta, Canada, on Aug. 6, 2012. The large multicultural celebration featured ethnic dance and music in Prince's Island Park. Dressed in traditional golden exercise uniforms, Falun Gong practitioners did their exercises to beautiful music. Their large banners stated “Falun Dafa” and “Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance”. It made a fascinating scene.

“How beautiful!” “Such a soothing exercise!” Many people stopped to watch. Pretty soon, there was a crowd at the Falun Gong exercise. “What is it?” “I would like to learn it.”

People were surprised to hear Falun Gong was persecuted in China. They found out more information about Falun Gong and the persecution by talking to the practitioners.

A gentleman from Shenzhen, China, told the practitioners that one of his former colleagues in China practiced Falun Gong. He was taken away by the police and had been missing since then. Falun Gong practitioners told the gentleman more facts about the persecution and gave him a copy of Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party. He was very grateful for the information.

The activity served as a great introduction to Falun Gong. A continuous stream of people visited the Falun Gong exercise site and found out about Falun Gong for the first time.
