Fa-Study and Making Calls to Clarify the Facts Allowed Me to Better Understand What a Divine State Means

Sept. 5, 2012 |   By a practitioner from Singapore

(Minghui.org) Rationally, I know that a practitioner should be able to do the three things every day. However, there is only so much time in a day to take care of family, do one's job, study the Fa, do the exercises, send forth righteous thoughts, clarify the facts, etc. Hence, one probably needs to cut down on sleep to accomplish all of this. I know that a cultivator does not need as much sleep and I do not sleep very much, but I used to feel tired most of the time.

One night I was on RTC (a platform on the internet used to clarify the truth to Chinese people) studying the Fa until three in the morning. Then, I got up before 6:00 a.m. to send righteous thoughts. Despite having less than three hours of sleep, I felt great. After doing the exercises I went to work. I had an amazingly energetic feeling, a feeling suitable for a high-level spiritual being. Since then I have been studying the Fa every day on RTC till 2:30 or 3:00 in the morning and have the same feeling the next day. I believe this feeling is possible only for a high-level spiritual being.

The difference between how I cultivated for over 10 years and what I have been doing recently is that I'm spending a lot more time studying the Fa. Being with the Fa for a good length of time is what has improved my character. I overcame the need to sleep more and acquired the feeling of being in a divine state.

By substantially reducing the time I sleep, I now have enough time to do the three things. Furthermore, no matter what kind of work I am doing, I can accomplish it efficiently because I am full of energy. Thus, I can do more work and get things done easily. This is the power and wisdom that I have acquired from Dafa. I am most grateful to Teacher and Dafa for helping me to reach my current state.

I got a lot of benefits from RTC and I know it is one of the best places to cultivate. When I first got on RTC, I did not realize the difference between speaking to people directly and by phone. I had dealt with a lot of Chinese people from different walks of life over the years and had advised several thousand people to withdraw from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its associated organizations. I thought that using the phone was just another way to speak to people. However, when I made my first call on RTC, I was very nervous, indicating that there was room for improvement in my cultivation. As I looked within, I noticed thoughts of showing off, protecting myself, fear of losing face, and fear of people hang up on me. Other practitioners on the phone were calm and steady in advising people to withdraw. My need to improve was clear.

On RTC I learned from fellow practitioners that there was a variety of ways to advise people to withdraw. Some ways can be used when speaking to someone face-to-face and vice versa. I learned that if one is not calm and steady during a call, people might hang up. It is not like talking to people face-to-face, where you can use gestures, a smile, or other means to hold a person's attention. On the phone, only steadiness and compassion can keep a listener in place. This realization has helped me immensely.

A practitioner gave her daughter's phone number to practitioner A, who was used to making calls to advise people to withdraw from the CCP. Practitioner A knew that the daughter had a deep-seated misunderstanding of Dafa and the need to withdraw from the CCP. Hence, he asked me to make the call for him. To me this was just another person at the other end of the line and I was giving the person an opportunity to leave the evil CCP. After I made the connection, it became clear that the daughter also misunderstood her mother. Clearly, it would be difficult to get her to withdraw, but I did not give up. Instead, I tried to explain things from many different angles. Several times she hung up, but I called her back. After conversing for more than 20 minutes, she finally agreed to withdraw from the CCP. After I hung up the phone, other practitioners in the room were very happy. They had been sending righteous thoughts to support my call.

Making calls to get people to withdraw is not the same as making calls to get practitioners released from prison. I found it to be a totally different kind of challenge. I admire the capability of these practitioners and I know I can use it to improve myself. Hence, whenever I have time, I make this kind of call. I think the experience of calling persecutors in prisons can also prepare me to make important calls in the future.

Due to the many benefits I have acquired from making calls on RTC, I try to pass on this message to fellow practitioners regularly. I know that I must make progress in my cultivation in order to be a good coordinator. I am most happy to see that more practitioners are joining the activity to make calls on RTC.

Like most other practitioners, no matter how late it is, I always make calls on RTC and study the Fa with other practitioners until RTC is closed. I do not feel tired or hungry because I am immersed in the Fa.

The above is my understanding at my current level. Please point out anything that is improper. Thank you Teacher! Thank you fellow practitioners!
