(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Bai Hongyuan from Zhengzhou City, Henan Province was arrested on his way to work on August 7, 2012. His whereabouts are still unknown.

Mr. Bai Hongyuan was previously arrested in 1999 as he traveled to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong. He was then sent back to his hometown and subjected to forced labor. The physical abuse and torture that he was subjected to left him devastated both physically and mentally. He suffered from the effects of the abuse even after he was released several years later. He lost his job and had to do odd jobs to support his family. But he was followed and harassed by local police numerous times for remaining steadfast in his belief in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.

Mr. Bai was arrested again on December 12, 2008 on his way to work by police from the Jinshui District Domestic Security Division. He was taken to Baimiao Forced Labor Camp. During more than 20 days' detention, he was physically abused and tortured so severely that he suffered respiratory and renal failure. He was unconscious and on the verge of death. The labor camp officials were afraid of taking responsibility for his possible death and told his family to take him home.

Paralyzed and barely alive after being released, Mr. Bai struggled to remain alive. He had lost control of his bodily functions and suffered loss of memory. He vomited blood. He was in a confused state of mind, and had trouble expressing himself. As a result of the mental pressure and physical abuse, he was in a state of anxiety.

It took Mr. Bai about 3 years to gradually recover his health. But he is still slow in speaking and acting. Because his child is young and his wife does not work, he has to do odd jobs to support the family. Every day, he left home early and returned late. Now he has been illegally arrested again, and his whereabouts are unknown.
