Kyoto, Japan: Lifting the Veil on the Chinese Regime's Crimes Against Humanity

Oct. 1, 2013 |   By a Falun Gong practitioner in Japan

(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners held a march and a rally near the entrance of the busiest shopping center in Kyoto, Japan, on September 14, 2013, to raise awareness of the Chinese communist regime's persecution of Falun Gong in China.

The practitioners also launched a signature drive to expose the regime's crime of forced organ harvesting from prisoners of conscience, most of whom are Falun Gong practitioners. Nearly 400 petition signatures were collected within just four hours.

Kyoto, at one time, served as Japan's capital city for more than a thousand years. It is well-known for its ancient Buddhist temples, majestic palaces, and gardens of every size and description. It also home to some of the country's most important works of art, rich culture, and refined cuisine. Tourists across the world visit the city year-round.

After carefully reading the practitioners' informational display, one man said with dismay, “Live organ harvesting is a crime against humanity. I cannot tolerate it!” He promptly signed the petition to call on the Chinese regime to immediately cease this horrific practice.

“You are doing the right thing,” said a Japanese woman after reading one of the practitioners' fliers. “The volume on your speakers is too low. You should call out to people to let everyone know about this persecution.” After she signed the petition she said, “I support you!”

At 4 p.m., the Divine Land Marching Band of Japan, composed of Falun Gong practitioners, led a long procession through downtown Kyoto. As the band played, other practitioners held banners to expose the Chinese Communist Party's atrocities and to introduce the beauty of Falun Gong to the spectators.

Many tourists said they had heard about Falun Gong back in their home countries.
