A former Yunnan Province professional tennis player, Falun Gong practitioner Han Zhenkun, was arrested again in September 2013. He had completed seven years of unjust imprisonment and was released in 2011.

Home Invasion

On September 16, 2013, at around 1 p.m., authorities broke into Mr. Han's home. Xishan District Domestic Security Team leader Qiu Xueyan, police officers Wang Zhongfang and Wen Yongxiang, and two plainclothes agents followed Falun Gong practitioners as they were on their way to Mr. Han's home.

When Mr. Han's mother asked Qiu why he was there, he accused them of making Falun Gong related materials and said they had been under long-term surveillance. Mr. Han's father said, “We don't produce any such materials!” Qiu responded, “It does not matter, we have to search the place anyway!” A policeman began taking pictures all around the house. Mr. Han's mother attempted to stop him but could not. Qiu Xueyan shouted, “If you do not cooperate, I will call for reinforcements! I will park a police car out front starting tomorrow, and whoever shows up will get arrested!”

There were ten Falun Gong practitioners in his home that day. Qiu Xueyan made each one of them write down their names and home addresses before he let them go. After that, Qiu pointed to the Shen Yun 2013 DVD and the Nine Commentaries DVD on the table, and asked who made them. Mr. Han said that he had. They pulled out a search warrant, began to fill out a form, and started searching his house. They took away 20 of his Falun Gong books, 18,000 yuan worth in cash, amulets, a copy of the Minghui Weekly, a computer, a cell phone, and three MP3 players.

They ransacked the place for three hours. Qiu called for more officers, five in total, to go to Mr. Han's house at around 4 p.m. When Mr. Han's father asked who they were, they replied that they were from the Liujiaying Police Station. They arrested Mr. Han Zhenkun and took him away.

Han Guolong went to the Liujiaying Police Station looking for his son at around 6:30 p.m. The guard on duty said that he had not seen him and suggested that he might be at the Xishan Domestic Security Department. Mr. Han's father returned home.

The next day, police officer Yang Yunxiang (+86-15877987673 [Cell]) from the Xishan District Domestic Security Team went to Mr. Han Zhenkun's home, but only his mother was at home at the time. He told her that her son was being held at the Xishan District Detention Center and deceived her into signing her name on Han Zhenkun's detention paper and took it with him.

Three days later, September 18, his parents went to the detention to see their son. Another Falun Gong practitioner, Zhu Yandong, was also being held there. He was arrested on September 9, 2013.

On September 19, Mr. Han's parents went to the Xishan District Domestic Security Team, but Qiu Xueyan refused to see them.

Seven Years of Unjust Imprisonment

Mr. Han Zhenkun, a former Yunnan Province tennis player, worked at the Jinhua Hotel in Kunming in 1991 after finishing his tennis career. He was fired in 2003 because he practices Falun Gong.

On April 23, 2004, he and his wife, Ms. Guo Juan, were arrested at home by Wuhua Police Department officers. Their home was raided, thousands of DVDs and materials pertaining to the persecution about Falun Gong, along with hundreds of Dafa books, were confiscated. The couple were held in the Wuhua Detention Center. A month later, they were officially arrested. Prosecutor Li Yunbing from the Kunming Procuratorate indicted them in July under Indictment 543, accusing them of “using a cult organization to undermine law enforcement.”

Kunming Intermediate People's Court tried Mr. Han and his wife. Their lawyer pleaded not guilty on their behalf, but the court illegally sentenced them anyway. Mr. Han was sentenced to seven years in prison, and his wife to three years. The presiding judge was Zhang Zhaolong; acting judges, Tang Yong and Xu Jianbin; clerk, Duan Yunping. The couple appealed the verdict. On November 15, 2994, the Yunnan Supreme Court upheld the original verdict. Han Zhenkun was held in the Yunnan No. 1 Prison, and Ms. Guo Juan in the Yunnan No. 2 Women's Prison.

Mr. Han was forced to do slave labor in prison, separating red and white beans, working on assembly lines making headphone parts, ironing uniforms, etc. They worked from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. daily. He was released on April 22, 2011.

Home Raided

On May 29, 2012, at around 9 a.m., plainclothes agents led by officer Xie Peijie from the Taihe Police Station broke into Mr. Han's home. He and his parents were present. Seven officers came in, five of them male. One shouted, “Han Zhenkun, you cannot make any Falun Gong related materials! They are all going to be removed today!” He began taking pictures, as others began searching, turning the house upside down.

Mr. Han and his parents exclaimed that their behavior was unlawful, it was robbery. One of them produced an ID, his name was Zhang Lei, none of them had a search warrant. One of them pulled out a blank search warrant, filled out the paper, and told Mr. Han's father to sign it; he refused.

They took two pictures of the founder of Falun Gong, dozens of Falun Dafa books, 15,000 yuan in cash, one computer, and three MP3 players. No one left them a list of the property they took. They took Mr. Han Zhenkun away as well. After they left, his parents noticed that their savings account book with 40,000 yuan was missing, too.
