(Minghui.org) Two female Falun Gong practitioners, both over 70, from Xiuyan Manchu Autonomous County, Anshan City, Liaoning Province, were recently sentenced to prison. Ms. Cui Yuanqing was sentenced to three and a half years, and Ms. Yin Wenqing to three years. They planned to appeal to a higher court.
Ms. Cui and Ms. Yin were discovered by a patrol officer while they were posting stickers with information about Falun Gong in Xiuyan on September 20, 2012. They were taken to the Anshan City Detention Center that same day. The police ransacked their homes and confiscated Falun Gong books. They were released the following day.
Xiuyan County Court tried Ms. Cui and Ms. Yin without allowing them any defense. Ms. Cui and Ms. Yin delivered documents that contained relevant legal information and information about Falun Gong to the court and to other related personnel, but to no avail.
Nearly a year later, Ms. Cui and Ms. Yin received the verdicts from the Xiuyan County Court. They were both sentenced to prison terms.
