The Liberty Bell Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania is a popular destination for tourists from around the world and a must-see stop for Chinese tourists. As such, it is also a place for Falun Dafa practitioners to help Chinese visitors learn about Dafa and the brutal persecution in China. After learning the facts, many Chinese people are eager to quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations.

“In information-blocking China, what people hear about Falun Gong are the Chinese Communist Party's slanderous lies. Some people commit wrongdoing under the misleading lies. I come to the Liberty Bell Center voluntarily to help Chinese tourists learn the truth. I believe that after learning the facts people will make a right choice,” explained Ms. Yan, who frequently goes to the Liberty Bell Center to talk to visitors from China.

She continued, “Nowadays, there are many tour buses full of Chinese tourists here. Almost everyone asks for our informational materials, such as the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, as well as information specifically about Falun Dafa.”

At the Liberty Bell Center in Philadelphia, Chinese tourists read Falun Gong informational displays. Many ask for printed materials and take photos.

Two Olden Men: We Came to the States to Quit the Party

Once, two older Chinese gentlemen came forward and asked a Falun Gong practitioner to help them quit the CCP. One of them said, “We came here to specially renounce the CCP. At our age, we have experienced all manner of bullying from the Party. We have suffered many hardships and almost lost our lives in China. We would appreciate it very much if you would help us to renounce our membership in the Party.”

Another older man said, after seeing the informational display, “You are great! The CCP is so bad. Please help me renounce the Party.” He told the practitioner that he had read Falun Gong informational materials in China, which had been distributed by Falun Gong practitioners who risked their lives to disseminate the truth. He had also received free software to break through the CCP's information blockade and was thus able to read news and information that is not accessible in China. He also asked for additional informational materials and said that he would bring them back to his friends.

A Shy Young Man: I Want to Quit the CCP with My Real Name

Once, Ms. Yan was talking to an older man while a shy young man stood off to the side and listened carefully. Ms. Yan said, “Since the CCP took power, have any Chinese people not been persecuted? People of our age have experienced so many political campaigns. Now, the Party is persecuting Falun Gong practitioners who follow the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. The Party promotes atheism and spreads lies to deceive the people. We Chinese believe in the heavenly principle that kindness will be rewarded and evildoers will receive karmic retribution. The Party has committed numerous wrongdoings. How can Heaven tolerate it? Heaven will disintegrate the CCP. Quitting the CCP and its affiliated organizations will distance you from the Party and allow you to have a safe future.”

After the explanation, Ms. Yan turned to the young man and asked, “Have you joined the Party?” “I joined the Communist Youth League and and the Young Pioneers,” answered the young man. Ms. Yan asked him, “What is your family name? Can I give you a pseudonym to help you renounce these two CCP organizations?” The young man agreed right away and gave Ms. Yan his true name. “I want to quit the Youth League with my true name. I come from Shanghai as a tourist,” he added. He then took a copy of the Nine Commentaries and sat down to read on a bench nearby.

A Family of Three: We Quit the Party Much Earlier

On a Saturday morning, a young couple and their child came to the Liberty Bell Center. They came forward after seeing the practitioners' stall. Ms. Yan talked with them about quitting the Party and its affiliated organizations. The man said nobly, “I quit the Party in Australia. The Party can do any and all wrongdoing. It staged the self-immolation on Tiananmen Square to defame Falun Gong.” He pulled out a flash drive while saying, “Look, I carry this flash drive with free software to evade the Internet blockade. I've installed it for my friends and relatives and many others, wherever I go, to have everyone read the truth. I have helped many people this way.”

A middle-aged man became excited after seeing Falun Gong practitioners at the Liberty Bell Center. He told them, “I renounced the Party in Europe. The CCP is just so bad. I earned some money after working really hard and overcoming countless hardships in China. The local officials fabricated lies against me and confiscated my money. I was almost persecuted to death. I know how to run a business and make money. But it is so difficult in China. The Party is too evil! I hate it.”
