(Minghui.org) To commemorate the ninth anniversary of the publication of the Nine Commentaries on Communist Party , Falun Gong practitioners formed a “Great Wall of Truth,” holding up banners along the streets of St. George and Bloor in Toronto.
The 2004 Epoch Times' editorial the Nine Commentaries led to a wave of withdrawals from the Party and its affiliated organizations. These withdrawals are submitted to the Epoch Times website, sometimes with an alias to avoid persecution. Nine years later, the number of Chinese citizens who have renounced the CCP has reached 150 million. The editorial continues to spread throughout China and beyond. Many predict that this peaceful movement will lead to the dissolution of the Communist Party.

Many local residents accepted Falun Gong informational materials during the banner display event. Kal Iman, an undergraduate student in University of Toronto, stopped to learn more. He was shocked by the information and said that the CCP's persecution cannot be tolerated as everyone should have freedom of belief. He signed a petition to show his support.
A man from Eastern Europe said, “I know from experience that the communist party is this evil. Such crimes [organ harvesting] must be condemned.” He then signed the petition.
In the past year, more than 70,000 Canadians have signed the petition to United Nations calling on UN to help stop live organ harvesting in China. In addition, more than 65,000 Canadian people signed a similar petition addressed to the Canadian government. Once a Canadian social worker signed the petition “Stop live organ harvesting” and took five copies of the blank form to have her colleagues at the city hall sign. One hour later, she brought back the five completed signature forms, a total of 40 signatures, and gave them to a practitioner.
Ms. Shi is a volunteer who often helps Chinese people declare their withdrawals from the CCP at an information display in front of Chinese Embassy and also at the Toronto CN Tower. She said, “The publication of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party has had a big impact on Chinese people both in China and overseas. I have seen major changes during my efforts in front of the embassy. Previously, Chinese Canadians coming to the embassy for visa application had misconceptions about Falun Gong due to the CCP's slanderous propaganda. They refused to talk to us. Some even cursed at us. Now, many Chinese people pause and listen to us explain the facts about the persecution. Some even decided to renounce the Party and its affiliated organizations.”
The CN Tower is a must-see attraction for Chinese tourists. Ms. Shi said, “Previously Chinese tourists refused to listen to us, nor would they accept informational materials. Nowadays, most Chinese tourists stop to listen and actively accept our fliers. A tour group from Henan visited the tower a few days ago. One Chinese official said, 'Actually, we are on your side. Not only myself, but also many other officials. We know what is going on [Falun Gong is being persecuted].' He then declared his withdrawal from the Party with an alias. The other six members of his group also quit the Party on the spot.”
