(Minghui.org) I started practicing Falun Dafa in May 1995. Because I wasn't diligent in studying the Fa, my loopholes were taken advantage of by the old forces. I was reported to the authorities and illegally arrested in 2006, with the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials fabricating the charges to sentence me to prison.

Below I wish to share with fellow practitioners some miracles that I have experienced while imprisoned.

Needles Did Not Penetrate My Vein

Before I began cultivating in Dafa, I had suffered from a heart condition. With my heart rate increasing rapidly in early 2007, while in jail, I was taken to the emergency room in a well-known provincial hospital. An experienced doctor, in her 50s, tried to correct my heart rhythm. I suddenly had a thought: “I am a Falun Dafa practitioner. I do not have an illness. This is an illusion. Nothing will work.”

The doctor inserted a tube into my nostril to lower my heart rate. It was very painful. I told her that whatever she tried would not work on me. She replied impatiently: “How do you know it won't work? I have done this for many years, and it has worked well for other patients.”

She then electrically shocked my heart three times. I shouted, “Please stop! I can't take it anymore!” She removed the tube and said, “One shock would be enough for other patients. Why didn't it work on you?” She then left to discuss it with other physicians.

They decided to try intravenous injections. I believed in Master and Dafa, and held the thought that none of their approaches would work on me. The needle could not pierce the vein in my arm. The doctor couldn't understand why she suddenly was unable to pierce a vein. She felt helpless and transferred me to the acute care unit. I was grateful that Master had protected me!

Master said:

“We have a practitioner who broke a few needles at a hospital. In the end, the liquid medicine squirted out, and the needle still would not penetrate.” (Zhuan Falun)

An Air Conditioner Installed

While in prison, inmates told me that in the previous year, they had to make a large puddle in the cell to keep cool during the hot summer. They slept in it to keep cool at night. I thought of whether I could bear the bitter heat.

Suddenly, Master's Fa came to mind:

“So we must practice cultivation in this complex environment and be able to endure the toughest hardships of all. Meanwhile, we must have a heart of great forbearance.” (Zhuan Falun)

With Master and the Fa in my heart, I was not worried. A few days later, the prison chief told me that they would install an air conditioner in my cell when the summer approached. This would be the first time the prison installed an air conditioner for a prisoner.

I understood that this was arranged by Master.

I recited Master's Fa:

“When disciples have ample righteous thoughts
Master has the power to turn back the tide”
(“The Master-Disciple Bond” from Hong Yin Vol. II)

Master always has the power to protect practitioners, as long as they have righteous thoughts and the Fa in their mind.

A prisoner in his 50s told me later that he had never met a person as nice as me. Another prisoner said: “You are like a Buddha in our prison cell. We will benefit when we take good care of you.” They all felt comfortable being with a Dafa practitioner.

An Old Guard's Comment

An elderly guard from another ward who knew me visited me in early 2008. Right after he entered the cell, he said: “How have you been? You just close your eyes and sit like an old monk whenever you can. What are you afraid of? If someone wants to steal your stuff, let him have it. Just do your meditation.”

I was shocked at what he said. I realized that Master was giving me a hint through this guard's words. Master wanted me to let go of all attachments, cultivate diligently, and do the the three things well to save predestined people.

I thought that I was actually doing these things, but obviously I did not do them enough and was still afraid when clarifying the truth about Falun Dafa. I then let go of every attachment and clarified the truth to predestined people. The result was very good. Every predestined person not only accepted the truth and quit the CCP, but also tried to encourage their family members to do the same.

CCP's Singing Contest Unsuccessful

All of the prisoners had to participate in a singing contest arranged by the CCP on the eve of July 1, 2008. Every ward had to have a chorus for the competition, singing CCP songs. The leaders selected the judging committee.

I did not want to attend this singing contest. I thus decided to send forth righteous thoughts at a short distance from the site to have the event fail.

The prisoners in my ward were relatively old. They were confident that they would win the contest. Entering the site, I started sending forth righteous thoughts to eliminate the evil factors and make the singing fail.

When they sang loudly, I recited loudly, “The Fa rectifies the cosmos, the evil is completely eliminated.” When their voices were low, I whispered this phrase.

Surprisingly, their singing stopped half way through the song. They felt unsure of why they had messed up a familiar song. They were upset about being second from the bottom and blamed the guards who did the beat for them. Actually, it was a practitioner's righteous thoughts that caused the failure.

Udumbara Flowers Blossomed on the Hospital Window

My blood pressure was very high on May 13, 2008, World Falun Dafa Day. I was taken to a community hospital for emergency care.

Twenty Udumbara flowers (1) blossomed on the window of my hospital room the next day. My wife and my daughter, who are also practitioners, witnessed this.

We understood that Master was encouraging us to be more diligent and save more predestined people. We took a photo of the flowers and sent the pictures with detailed explanations to policemen and people in our area. Our {truth clarification}} efforts were very successful.

I stayed in the hospital from May until November 2008. I was then taken to a hospital for emergency treatment eight times in 2009. No medicine helped. Later I discovered that my righteous thoughts could control my blood pressure. My blood pressure would rise during the examination and fall afterward. This situation put tremendous pressure on the people involved in the persecution. Not only did they have to pay for the treatments, but the police also had to take turns to monitor me. Finally, they released me on medical parole.

I was released from the prison without having to bribe anyone. I knew that the illness symptoms were an illusion. It was said that I was the only person to ever walk out of the prison half way through a prison term with the medical diagnosis of hypertension.

During my two years in the prison, I let go of many attachments. I believed in Master and Dafa. I had righteous thoughts and actions, and did the three things well. I held the thought that there were people I needed to save and that nothing happened by accident.

(1) Legends hold that Udumbara flowers bloom only once every 3,000 years. According to the Buddhist sutras, Sanskrit word "Udumbara" means "an auspicious flower from heaven." Shakyamuni told his disciples that when the Udumbara blooms, it would signify the time of Chakravartin (Wheel-Turning King) descending to the human world to preach the Buddha Law. Since 1997, Udumbara flowers have been spotted in China, U.S. and other parts of the world.
