(Minghui.net) Ms. Huang Duohong, a Falun Gong practitioner from Hunan Province, was arrested again on October 28, 2012. She has been persecuted for years, ever since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started the persecution of Falun Gong in 1999. She is now in the Xiangtan City Detention Center, awaiting a hearing. Ms. Huang's father passed away on November 20, 2012. Prior to his death, the family asked permission for Ms. Huang to see her father one last time, which Public Security personnel denied.

Ms. Huang, 42, ran a stationery shop in the Yuhua District of Xiangtan City. She was sincere and honest, so business was good. After she began practicing Falun Gong in 1996, she was healed of her many illnesses without the use of medications. She followed the principles of Falun Gong – Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance – and always thought of others first. She often gave financial assistance to students from poor families.

After the CCP authorities began to persecute Falun Gong, she was illegally detained several times. When she went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong, she was brutally beaten by the police. In March 2000, after a trip to Beijing, the Pingzhenglu Police Station extorted 1,000 yuan from her. In June 2000, the Pingzhenglu Police Station extorted another 5,000 yuan from her. In January 2001, the Xiangtan City 610 Office confiscated her computer worth 9,000 yuan. They arrested her and placed her in the Baimalong Forced Labor Camp in Zhuzhou City, where she was severely persecuted for two years.

In 2004, the 610 Office in Xiangtan City and the local police intimidated and pressured Ms. Huang's husband into divorcing her. During the divorce proceedings, the judge arbitrarily assigned all of the couple's deposits, house, and any valuable property to Ms. Huang's husband. Due to the ongoing persecution and constant threat of arrest, Ms. Huang was forced to leave home. She kept on the move and lived in other cities for more than six years.

In April 2005, the Xiangtan City 610 Office arrested Ms. Huang's brother, who did not practice Falun Gong. They held him in a secret detention center in the provincial capital and demanded that Ms. Huang's family pay them 100,000 yuan, much more than the family had. All of their money, less than 50,000 yuan, was taken by the police. The police then took other items, as well as more than 50,000 yuan from their stationary shop. They also stole a table tennis game and a motorcycle worth more than 6,000 yuan.

On August 19, 2011, when Ms. Huang Duohong went to Changsha to visit Falun Gong practitioner Li Zhigang (a former assistant researcher at the School of Computer Science in the National University of Defense Technology and also a soldier), she was arrested by police in the Chaoyang District of Changsha City. Ms. Huang and Li Zhigang were held at the "Hunan Legal Education Training Center,” which was actually a facility for brainwashing and "transforming" Falun Gong practitioners.

Ms. Huang was transferred to the Sanjiaoping Detention Center in Xiangtan City. She started a hunger strike to protest the illegal arrest and detention. She was then force-fed for a month. In the first week, she was fed through a tube in her nose. Later, several people pushed her down and force-fed her again. The food they forced into her included two to three packs of milk, sesame paste, salt, and sometimes oil. During the brutal forced-feeding, Ms. Huang almost suffocated. She became emaciated. On September 23, the detention center secretly transferred her to the Fifth Hospital for another forced-feeding. Afraid of bearing responsibility for her condition, the director of the detention center (surnamed Liu) asked the 610 Office to release her, but the 610 Office refused to.

On October 28, Ms. Huang was taken to the Law Hospital of Xiangtan City for an exam. Despite her weakened condition, Ms. Huang took the opportunity to escape. The 610 Office declared her recapture a “political priority” and immediately mobilized police and community members to find her. They also broke into many practitioners' homes to search for her.

At 7:00 p.m. on October 28, 2012, officers from the State Security Bureau, the Leiyang 610 Office, and the Caizichi Police Station surrounded Falun Gong practitioner Xiong Qiuling's home in Leiyang City, and arrested Xiong Qiuling and Ms. Huang, who was taken to Xiangtan City.

On November 9, 2012, the Yuhu District Procuratorate in Xiangtan City sent Ms. Huang an indictment, which she refused to sign. She was charged with “using a cult organization to undermine law enforcement,” and also with her escape from detention.

On December 10, 2012, the Yuhu District Procuratorate sent Ms. Huang a notice postponing the trial to December 23. She still refused to sign the document. That day, the Yuhu District Procuratorate asked the 610 Office and police station to provide supplementary information to be used against Ms. Huang.

Ms. Huang Duohong is now being held in the Xiangtan Detention Center. Her family has only been allowed to send her a few basic necessities: shoes, socks, pants, warm clothes, and some food.
