Five Practitioners in Fushun City to Be Tried in Court, Their Families Call for Rescue

March 1, 2013 |   By a Minghui correspondent in Liaoning Province, China

(Minghui.org) Five Falun Gong practitioners from Xinbin County, Liaoning Province, were illegally arrested in a raid on the morning of April 15, 2012, by officers deployed from Fushan City police stations. They were detained in Nangou Detention Center for more than nine months. Dongzhou District Court officials attempted to try the practitioners. The presiding judge was Song Baoyue [+86-18641318737, +86-24-57567437 (Office)].

The five practitioners are Ms. Wan Yumei, Ms. Zhang Deyan, Mr. Sun Haifeng, Mr. Mu Guodong and Ms. Wang Guihua.

Wanghua District Procuratorate officials prosecuted the five practitioners in the Wanghua District Court on July 12, 2012. They then transferred the so-called cases to the Dongzhou District Court in December 2012.

Ms. Wang Yumei's family has hired a lawyer from Beijing to enter a non-guilty plea on her behalf. We hope righteous people inside and outside of China will stand up for justice, and help rescue the practitioners and secure their release.

Background

On the morning of April 15, 2012, around 6:30 a.m., more than ten officers broke into Ms. Zhang Deyan's house and handcuffed her. Her sister was kept restrained in another room, and wasn't allowed to go to the restroom or make phone calls. The police were afraid that she would tell others what was happening. While a few officers watched Ms. Zhang's sister, the others ransacked, took pictures of, and videotaped her house. They confiscated a photo of Master, Falun Gong books, a computer, a DVD player, cellphones, and other personal belongings.

Twenty practitioners were arrested on the same day in the area around Xinbin. Four of them were sentenced to prison, and five to forced labor. The Communist regime officials denied the practitioners' family members their right to visit them. Their families have no way of knowing what is being done to them inside the detention center. Thus far, the only news they've heard is that their loved ones are forced to do slave labor for 12 hours a day.
