(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 9 cities or counties in 5 provinces. According to this report, 5 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 5 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Beijing] Ms. Guo Pingzhen Tortured at Daxing Forced Labor Camp

Ms. Guo Pingzhen, from Wuxue City, Hubei Province, is 32 years old. In December, 2012, she went on a business trip to Beijing. She was arrested by officers from the Yangfangdian Police Station when she distributed Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs near the railway station. She was taken to the Haidian Detention Center and later sentenced to two years of forced labor.

Ms. Guo has been tortured at the Daxing Forced Labor Camp in Beijing. She has been on a hunger strike for over 55 days to protest the persecution.

2. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liu Zhi Abused at Liaoning Province Women's Prison

Ms. Liu Zhi lost consciousness as a result of the abuse in the Liaoning Province Women's Prison. She also became extremely emaciated. She was taken to the Affiliated Fourth Hospital of China Medial University on the afternoon of March 8, 2013; however, staff refused to accept her. She has since been released and taken to her second brother's residence.

3. [Baishan City, Jilin Province] Mr. Yang Xiuwen Tortured

Mr. Yang Xiuwen has been tortured in custody, resulting in lung injury.

4. [Bin County, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Qu Shuqing and Ms. Sun Yaoqin Arrested

Ms. Qu Shuqing and Ms. Sun Yaoqin were arrested by officers from the Fendou Police Station in Binzhou Town on the afternoon of March 5, 2013. Ms. Qu was released one hour later. Ms. Sun was taken to the Bin County Second Detention Center.

5. [Nahe City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Liu Mingkang Illegally Fined 80,000 Yuan

Mr. Liu Mingkang, from Molidawa Banner, was illegally fined 80,000 yuan by officers from the Nahe City 610 Office in Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province. His computer was also confiscated.

6. [Hengshui City, Hebei Province] Mr. Fan Jingquan Detained

Mr. Fan Jingquan was arrested while at work by officers from the Qianmetou Town Police Station in Shenzhou City on the morning of March 5, 2013. His Falun Gong books and informational materials, MP3 player, Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs, and copies of Minghui Weekly were confiscated. Mr. Fan was taken to the Shenzhou City Detention Center and has been held there ever since.

7. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Mr. Shen Songkun Sent to Brainwashing Center

Mr. Shen Songkun was arrested while at work in Jing District on the morning of March 6, 2013. Two agents who claimed to be from the provincial government agency made the arrest. Mr. Shen was taken to the Zhangqiuguanzhuang Brainwashing Center in Weifang City. His family members were forbidden from visiting.

8. [Chengde City, Hebei Province] Ms. Ma Guoxia Arrested

Officers from the Nianziyu Town Police Station in Kuancheng County stormed into Ms. Ma Guoxia's home on Marhc 5, 2013, and confiscated two copies of Zhuan Falun, as well as Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs and Falun Gong informational materials. Ms. Ma was arrested. Her current whereabouts are unknown.

Ms. Zeng Huiqiong, in her 70s, was arrested in November 2012, when she distributed informational materials about Falun Gong. She is currently held at the Pudong Town Detention Center in Jimo City.
