According to sources, on July 24, 2013, practitioner Zhu Jingyun was taken to the Xinxin Hills Brainwashing Center in Yongji County. He had not yet finished his term in a forced labor re-education camp.
Violent Abuse in Labor Camp Caused Stroke
Zhu Jingyun began practicing Falun Gong in 2005 and benefited both mentally and physically. At around 6 p.m. on May 29, 2012, he was illegally arrested by seven policemen, including Fan Shoujun and Guo Laigang from the Chaluhe Police Department. His home was also ransacked. The police first detained Mr. Zhu in the Kouqian Town Detention Station in Yongji County. After he was detained there for two weeks, he was secretly taken to the Chaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp in Changchun City for 15 months of forced labor re-education. The police did not inform his family about the forced labor sentence until much later.
Because Zhu Jingyun refused to give up his belief in Falun Dafa, the labor camp did not allow him to sleep for ten days. At around 5 p.m. on November 25, 2012, Mr. Zhu passed out and began to convulse. The labor camp staff took him to the First Hospital of Jilin University in Changchun City. They did not notify his family until after 9 p.m. that night.
On December 3, 2012, Mr. Zhu's family went to the labor camp to visit him. He had to be carried out by staff because he was too weak to walk. His family immediately requested the labor camp to send him to hospital. At around 1:30 p.m. on December 4, Mr. Zhu's family paid for him to have a brain scan at the First Hospital of Norman Bethune University of Medical Science in Changchun City. After more than three hours of examination, the hospital stated that Zhu Jingyun's brain was normal. The family refused to accept the result. They argued with the police, “How can he be normal yet he cannot walk?” They requested the labor camp to release Zhu Jingyun, but the labor camp refused. The family had to watch the police take Zhu Jingyun back to labor camp.
From October 18 to October 28, 2012, staff in the Third Group of the Chaoyanggou Labor Camp had taken shifts day and night to torture Zhu Jingyun. The relentless torture caused him to suffer a stroke. He was taken to a hospital for emergency care overnight, which cost the family 4,000 yuan. However, he did not get better as there was no treatment administered. Instead, he was relentlessly pressured by Jiang Chunlie and Wang Yongqiang to give up his belief. Zhu Jiahui from the Education Department tried to deceive Zhu Jingyun by saying that once he wrote a statement giving up his belief, he would be allowed to go home. The labor camp tries to deceive all Falun Gong practitioners this way, telling them that once they write statements giving up their belief, they would be allowed to go home before the end of the year. But this does not happen.
On October 18, 2012, the labor camp commenced a concentrated campaign to force all Falun Gong practitioners to give up their belief. This effort was dubbed “The Battle.” Each day, the labor camp paid 200 yuan to those who already had renounced Dafa to help “transform” other Falun Gong practitioners. The torture started in the early morning around 2 or 3:00 a.m. and lasted into the next day. Zhu Jingyun passed out at midnight when he suffered a stroke. He was taken to the Second Hospital at Jilin University for emergency treatment, which cost approximately another 3,000 yuan. When his condition was stabilized, he was taken back to the labor camp. However, he was not able to walk without someone supporting him. Zhu Jingyun appealed to a captain surnamed Gao that he would like to go home for proper medical treatment, but Gao refused his request.
According to an internal source, on July 24, 2013, Zhu Jinyun was secretly transferred to the Xinxin Village Brainwashing Center for further persecution. The transfer was planned and carried out by the Chaoyanggou Labor Camp and the Yongji County 610 Office.
Arrested Twice in 2009, Tortured, Home Ransacked
From 4 a.m. to 1p.m. on September 15, 2009, Zhu Jingyun's family was terrorized by police officers Zhu Zhaohong from the Yongji Police Department and Liu Junpeng from the Chaluhe Police Department. Zhu Jingyun's wife and son were slapped by the police. His eldest daughter was illegally arrested and sentenced to one year of forced labor re-education. The police ransacked the family's home and Mr. Zhu's home appliance store. They took away two computers, a color printer, a box of A4 copy paper, and 21,500 yuan in cash from his home.
The policemen who participated in the persecution of Mr. Zhu Jingyun and his family include: Zhang Zhiwei, Liu Guojun, Fan Shoujun, Liu Junpeng, Guo Laigang, and Yuan Yuepeng from the Chaluhe Police Department; Zhang Liansheng from the Wanchang Town Police Station; Bai Dongliang, who is the former Deputy Director of the Chaluhe Police Department; Liu Jie, currently a policeman in the Yongji Domestic Security Division, Wang Biao, and Zhang Lei.
From 8:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. on October 8, 2009, approximately 8 policemen from the Chaluhe Police Department surrounded Zhu Jingyun's home, including Deputy Director Fan Shoujun, police officers Yuan Yuepeng and Liu Guojun, and a driver surnamed Ma. Seeing the policemen outside his home, Zhu Jingyun immediately tried to escape. When he reached a nearby field, the police surrounded him, arrested him and took him back to the house. Zhu Jingyun resisted and shouted, “Falun Dafa is good! Truth-Compassion-Forbearance is good! Freedom of belief is not a crime!” The police beat and kicked him. Finally, the police dragged Zhu Jingyun by his hair into a police car.
Zhu Jingyun's wife and 90-year-old father, who is blind, tried to stop the police from making the arrest, but the police violently beat them both. The villagers witnessing the scene shouted with anger, “You are policemen! How can you beat good people so casually? What law did they break?” The righteous condemnations made the police stop.
After Zhu Jingyun was dragged into the police car, Fan Shoujun and Yuan Yuepeng pulled Zhu's hair and continued to beat him until they arrived the Chaluhe Police Department. There, Mr. Zhu was violently beaten again and was shocked with electric batons. The torture lasted until he passed out. He was then taken to the Second Hospital in Chaluhe Town. Afterwards the police took Zhu Jingyun to the Yongji County Detention Station. The detention station refused to accept him because of his precarious physical condition. The police then tortured Zhu with mustard oil. When Zhu Jingyun was taken to the county hospital, he was slapped twice by a policeman referred to as “Director Liu.” Finally, the police realized that Zhu Jingyun was unconscious. To shirk responsibility for his condition, they called Mr. Zhu's family saying that he was fine and could now be taken back home.
When Zhu's family came to pick him up, they found that he was suffering from urinary incontinence. When the police asked the family if Zhu Jingyun had had this problem before, the family replied, “He was very healthy. He was the pillar of our family.” The police were speechless. Zhu Jingyun was taken back home on the night of October 9, 2009.
