(Minghui.org) My father was a typical farmer. He was illiterate, but he was honest, kind, cheerful and helpful. He was always involved in everything that happened in our village. My sisters and I married and settled down in the city. The people in our hometown were envious, and my father was very proud of us.
My older sister had a good job, but she was often sick. She had tried many treatments, but without success. In 1995, Falun Dafa came to our city. When she heard about the practice's miraculous power in returning people to and maintaining good health, she started to practice it. She regained her health within a few months. Because of her recovery, her colleagues and our relatives and friends started to practice Falun Dafa.
Because his oldest daughter regained her health and his youngest daughter received the "Filial Daughter-in-law" Award two years in a row after she began to practice Falun Dafa, my father was very happy and proud whenever he talked about us.
The wicked Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started to persecute Falun Dafa practitioners on July 20, 1999. My older sister and her husband were illegally arrested and held in a detention center, while my younger sister was held in the local police station. My husband was detained and I was sentenced to a three-year term, leaving a mute child at home alone. This deeply affected my strong-minded father's spirits.
The villagers always enjoyed getting together in the evenings. My usually talkative father became quiet, and when anyone slandered Falun Dafa on television, he left. My father used to love to watch the news.
For ten years, starting with the day the regime-controlled television station began to malign Falun Dafa, he stopped watching TV. He knew how his daughters had changed for the better from practicing Falun Dafa. He never told us about the pressure he endured until he became very ill. But for him, the worst was his fear that we would be persecuted again.
We respected and cared for our father very much. To relieve the pressure on him and have him be more relaxed, we provided him with access to the New Tang Dynasty (NTD) programs. NTD is a global Chinese television station, a station that can be relied on and trusted.
Seeing so many people practicing Falun Dafa worldwide, including in Hong Kong and Taiwan, he broke down in tears and said, “I will die in peace when everyone in China, including you, can practice Falun Dafa without being arrested.” This moved us to tears, too.
My father understood many facts about Falun Dafa through the NTD programs and was able to relax. He quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliates. He also started to recite “Falun Dafa is good ! Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.”
The doctor said that my father would be in great pain because of his illnesses, but he was not. He left this world peacefully. We know that he benefited from Falun Dafa.
My father died more than three years ago. I am sharing this with fellow practitioners in the hope that all families and friends of persecuted practitioners watch NTD, understand the facts about Falun Dafa, and choose a good future for themselves.
