Clarifying the Facts to Tourists in the Xizi Bay Area of Taiwan

Sept. 1, 2013 |   By a practitioner in Taiwan

(Minghui.org) The Xizi Bay Area of Kaohsiung City, Taiwan, is known for its sugar sand beach, history museums, prestigious university, and unique tunnel. Rain or shine, tourists flock to the area every day to enjoy its attractions. It is the perfect place for local Falun Gong practitioners to tell visitors from China the facts about Falun Gong and the persecution and why it is important to quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organizations.

As long as we have the heart to save sentient beings, Master will bring people to us. When we see visitors come in droves, we deeply feel the urgency of saving these precious beings.

In order to make our truth-clarification efforts more effective, I feel that we must be kind to people at all times. In addition, we must constantly improve our xinxing amidst our conflicts and work together well.

Tourists from mainland China learn the facts about Falun Gong

Show Kindness to All People

Whether we can persuade a tourist to quit the Party and its affiliated organizations all depends on our own cultivation state, tone of voice, and approach.

We should always be polite and show good manners. It helps to remember to offer a kind greeting. Elderly tourists will appreciate it if we offer them a chair to sit down and catch their breath in really hot weather. When people feel comfortable with us, it is much easier to guide the conversation to the facts about Falun Gong and why they need to withdraw from the Party. Then it becomes natural for them to quit.

Even if they hesitate and decline to quit right away, we should still be kind and wish them a happy visit and a safe trip home. Before parting ways, we can gently suggest that they remember, “Falun Dafa is good.”

One practitioner noticed a young man reading the display boards attentively, so she talked to him about the social and economic problems brewing in China. He was very receptive and agreed that the Party was the root cause of everything bad. He readily agreed to quit the Young Pioneers he had once joined.

Some practitioners stay at the beach with small display boards in hand. They offer to help tourists take pictures and often get them to quit the Party in the end. One time, a family of three quit the Party without any hesitation.

In talking to people from different backgrounds and with different concerns, we should always fine tune our conversation to appeal to their interests. For instance, on hot summer days, we may talk about abnormal weather in China (such as the March hailstorm and June snow) which often gets the listeners to agree with us. Then we can point out the cause of the problems and advise them to quit the Party.

As we continue our efforts to clarify the facts, we are pleased to see more and more tourists and guides approaching us for more information or help with the CCP resignations. Some guides even gather their groups in front of the display boards for long periods of time so their tourists have more time to talk to us. One guide asked for truth-clarification DVDs to play to the tourists on his bus. To help facilitate the resignations, we have slips of paper available and tourists only need to fill out certain information. One guide grabbed a whole bunch of these slips to hand out to his group.

We have some elderly practitioners who take public transportation to the Bay Area to send forth righteous thoughts and clarify the facts. From not knowing how to meet the public to being good at it, and from being fearful to having no fear, we are all maturing and improving.

Of course, everyone is different when it comes to clarifying the facts to people. I suggest that fellow practitioners explore the best way for themselves. As long as we have firm faith in Master and Dafa, our truth-clarification efforts will have good results.

Temper Our Hearts and Improve as a Whole Body

Of course, it is not always smooth sailing. While working together to save people, we often run into conflicts. Some practitioners become very upset and insist on finding out who is at fault. They forget to look within to identify their own omissions.

As I see it, all the conflicts and misunderstandings are opportunities for us to improve our xinxing and get rid of our attachments, including the showoff mentality, jealousy, competitiveness, and fear. Nothing is accidental and the most important thing is to improve our xinxing.

After returning home from the Bay Area around noontime every day, I continue my efforts by sending text messages to people in mainland China. A few days back I helped a man quit the Young Pioneers, and today he sent me a text that said, “We are now one family.” I was moved to tears and remembered Master once said something about all the people in the world being His family.

Master has arranged so many people to come to the Bay Area--how many of them have we saved? Has everyone stepped forward to do his or her best? Have we worked together really well to save more sentient beings?

I hope we can cherish the predestined relationship between us and work well with each other in fulfilling our vow to assist Master with Fa-rectification.
