Details about Qinglongshan Brainwashing Center

Sept. 15, 2013 |   By a Minghui correspondent from Heilongjiang Province, China

(Minghui.org) The “Law Enforcement Education Base,” which was established by the 610 Office at Qinglongshan Farm in Tongjiang City and is affiliated with the Agriculture Reclamation Bureau General of Heilongjiang Province, is actually a brainwashing center for persecuting Falun Gong practitioners.

The 610 Office established the brainwashing center in secrecy to provide a “law enforcement education.” They detain both local Falun Gong practitioners as well as practitioners who have finished their terms in forced-labor camps and prisons, and attempt to force them to renounce their belief through so-called “education.”

The center employs a total of six staff members. Their job is to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. The employees include Fang Yuechun, 57; Tao Hua, 50, the head of the center, who used to be a director in a daycare center; Fang Xiumei, 47, the accountant in charge of finances; Zhu Zhaopeng, 32, a collaborator; Zhou Jingfeng, 24; and Jin Yanpeng, 25. Zhou and Jin have both obeyed Fang Yuechun’s orders to torture practitioners.

The walls surrounding the brainwashing center are over two meters high. The main gate, which is as high as the wall, is black and faces the north. The gate is usually closed. There is a small door in the gate that is frequently used. There is a house about 30 meters away from the gate. The yard is about 100 meters long and 70 meters wide. There are fish ponds, flower beds, fruit trees, and vegetable gardens, which are all cared for by the Falun Gong practitioners.

The house is also opened to the north. There is a square hall at the entry. The “Thank you” letters from the "transformed" practitioners hang on either side of the hall. One of them was written by Yu Xiaoyan’s husband.

Yu Xiaoyan often went to the brainwashing center to persecute Falun Gong practitioners after she was "transformed." They were paid 80 yuan per day to assist in “helping and educating”--brainwashing. They monitor practitioners' every word and deed. Hou Hua from Mudanjiang City severely persecuted other practitioners after being "transformed." He was often sent to other areas to persecute and "transform" practitioners.

The police office, which is furnished with monitoring equipment, is across from the main door. To the right is a corridor with three rooms on each side. Each room is about 20 square meters, equipped with toilets, washbasins, TVs, and storage cabinets. There are three beds in each room, each one clearly monitored by the camera. To the left are offices, a cafeteria, large conference rooms, and small meeting rooms. Practitioners who remain unwavering in their beliefs are transferred to a small meeting room. Since there is no monitoring equipment in the small meeting rooms, this is where practitioners are freely and brutally tortured.

The main methods of torture include forced standing for a long time, squatting, handcuffing male practitioners, tying hands to two beds so the practitioner can't stand, and forced squatting with both arms straight. They place Master Li's picture under the practitioner's buttocks. Two thugs force a practitioner's hand to write the three statements.” They later use the three statements to attack the practitioners until they give in.

Practitioners detained in the brainwashing center are pressured to write the three statements and watch videos slandering Falun Gong. If they refuse, they are not allowed to call or meet with family or relatives.

Each detained practitioner has to pay 10,000 yuan for meals every month. Even if the person is there less than a month, he or she still has to pay 10,000 yuan, and a two-month fee is charged for any time over a month. The brainwashing center claims that four dishes are served at each meal (two for breakfast, six for lunch, and four for dinner). In actuality, they only serve salted vegetables, gruel, and steamed buns or dry scones without oil for breakfast. For lunch, there are only two dishes in four plates for over ten people. There is no food left if you are late to the table. The brainwashing center often offers meals and entertainment to guests, for which the persecuted Falun Gong practitioners are charged.
