1. [Dongying City, Shandong Province] Ms. Kong Fanlian and Ms. Zhang Hongmei Sent to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Kong Fanlian and Ms. Zhang Hongmei were arrested on the evening of September 3, 2013, while they spoke to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. They are being held in the Shengcai Brainwashing Center.

2. [Xiangtan County, Hunan Province] Ms. Liu Heqing Arrested

Ms. Liu Heqing was arrested on September 2, 2013, while distributing materials about the persecution of Falun Gong.

3. [Pingquan County, Hebei Province] Ms. Bao Xiuying Arrested

Ms. Bao Xiuying, in her 60s, was arrested on the morning of September 5, 2013.

4. [Huaiyang County, Henan Province] Ms. Yang Liu and Ms. Hu Yueying Arrested

Ms. Yang Liu and Ms. Hu Yueying were arrested in August 2013.

5. [Yitong County, Jilin Province] Mr. Wang Jinbo Sentenced to Six Years in Prison

Mr. Wang Jinbo was arrested at his workplace by police officers from the Ningjiang District Domestic Security Division on June 5, 2013. He was then sentenced to six years in prison by the Ningjiang District Court and recently sent to the Jilin Province Prison.

6. [Jinzhai County, Anhui Province] Ms. Chen Xiwen Arrested

Ms. Chen Xiwen, in her 70s, was arrested around a month ago. Her whereabouts are unknown.

7. [Gaomi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yuan Jun Detained

Ms. Yuan Jun, 57, was arrested by officers from the Weifang City Police Department on July 21, 2013. She was sent to the Weifang City Detention Center. The police confiscated her car, two computers, a printer, Falun Gong books, and a picture of the founder of Falun Gong, among other items.

8. [Jixi City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Zhang Peizeng Detained

Mr. Zhang Peizeng was arrested at home by officers from the Chengzihe District Police Station and Donghaikuang Police Station on the morning of August 31, 2013. The police confiscated his computer, printer, cell phone, and Falun Gong books. Mr. Zhang is being held in the Jixi City No. 2 Detention Center.

9. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Ms. Ye Jinyan and Ms. Liu Xiaoying Detained

Ms. Ye Jinyan and Ms. Liu Xiaoying were arrested by police from the Kunming City Yuantongshan Zoo on September 3, 2013, while they were distributing materials about the persecution of Falun Gong at the zoo. They were taken to the Huashan Police Station and transferred to the Kunming City Detention Center later that day. Police also ransacked their homes.

10. [Jining City, Shandong Province] Ms. Miao Xianmin and Ms. Miao Yanmin Detained

Ms. Miao Yanmin was arrested on the evening of September 3, 2013, because police found materials about the persecution of Falun Gong in her bag at the train station, while she was on her way to visit her daughter in Beijing. She was taken to the railway police station. Her sister, Ms. Miao Xianmin, was also arrested and taken to the same police station that evening. Both sisters were then taken to the Jining City Detention Center by officers from the Jining Railway Police Department.

11. [Chengde City, Hebei Province] Mr. Wang Xirong Sent to Brainwashing Center

Mr. Wang Xirong was arrested in his office by officers from the Shuangluan District Yuanbaoshan Street Administration Office on August 23, 2013. He was sent to the Guoyingzi Brainwashing Center.

12. [Shanghai] Three Practitioners Arrested

Three elderly practitioners--Ms. Zhang Caihong, Ms. Shen Yingying, and Ms. Jin Di--were arrested on September 4, 2013, while they spoke to people about the persecution of Falun Gong at the intersection of Jinding Road and Gaoling Road.

13. [Anqiu City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Qingmei Passed Away Due to Abuse in Prison

Ms. Liu Qingmei passed away at the Anqiu Hospital on the evening of September 3, 2013, as a result of being severely abused at the Shandong Women's Prison.

Ms. Liu was sentenced to 12 years in prison in 2003. When she was initially sent to a prison, however, it refused to accept her due to her hypertension. She was imprisoned in the Shandong Women's Prison in 2008 and was severely tortured there. Consequently, she had difficulty walking and suffered from a mental disorder for a period of time.

14. [Jiaozuo, Henan Province] Ms. Gao Fang and Ms. Xue Rujun Detained

Ms. Gao Fang was arrested just outside her home on the morning of September 4, 2013. The police confiscated her printer, recorder, and materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. Her daughter, Ms. Xue Rujun, was also arrested that afternoon. Both mother and daughter are being held at the Jiaozuo City Detention Center.
