(Minghui.org) Today's news from mainland China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 14 cities or counties in 10 provinces. According to this report, 4 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 23 practitioners were illegally arrested .

1. [Beijing] Ms. Duan Hongxia and Her Husband Detained

Ms. Duan Hongxia, in her 40s, and her husband were arrested in July 2013. They are now being held at the Changping District Detention Center.

2. [Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Lu Nongying Arrested

Ms. Lu Nongying was arrested on Cuiqiao Street, Henglin Town on September 10, 2013, while distributing Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs. She was taken to the Henglin Police Station.

3. [Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Tan Fangjiang and Ms. Wang Xinchun Arrested

Ms. Wang Xinchun’s home was ransacked by Fang Xiangang along with some other officers from the Tuanjie Police Station on the evening of September 9, 2013. The police confiscated her Falun Gong books. Mr. Tan Fangjiang and Ms. Wang were arrested at their leased apartment. Mr. Tan has been held for 15 days, and Ms. Wang’s whereabouts are unknown.

4. [Xishui County, Guizhou Province] Mr. Dong San Arrested

Mr. Dong San was arrested on August 13, 2013. The police ransacked his home. He is being held at the Zunyi Detention Center.

5. [Tongling City, Anhui Province] Ms. Fang Yu in Critical Condition

Ms. Fang Yu was sentenced to six years in prison and has been imprisoned in the Suzhou Women's Forced Labor Camp. As a consequence of being subject to severe abuse, Ms. Fang is in critical condition and unable to take care of herself.

6. [Guiyang City, Guizhou Province] Ms. Zhou Xinghui Arrested

Ms. Zhou Xinghui was arrested by officers from the Guiyang City Domestic Security Division on August 30, 2013, while distributing Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs. Her home was ransacked the next day and police confiscated her Falun Gong books, Shen Yun DVDs, and materials containing information about the persecution of Falun Gong. She is being held at the Lannigou Prison.

7. [Qingyuan County, Liaoning Province] Six Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Huang Yuping, Ms. Wen Guiqing, Ms. Zhang Yanfen, and Ms. Liu Jinyan and her husband were arrested by officers from the Qingyuan County Police Department and the Nankouqian Town Police Station on the morning of August 23, 2013, when they went to a disaster area to provide disaster victims food and clothing and to help them clean up the area. Their homes were also ransacked.

Ms. Qi Yunzhen was arrested at Ms. Huang’s home by the police who were ransacking it. Ms. Huang is being held at the Fushun Detention Center, and the other five were released.

8. [Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Zhao Hongli Arrested

Mr. Zhao Hongli was arrested at home on the afternoon of September 8, 2013. He is being held at the Jianping County Detention Center.

9. [Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Qi Xiuying, Ms. Huan Jingxia, and Ms. Yu Shuqin were arrested by several plainclothes police officers at Ms. Yu’s home on September 5, 2013. They were taken to a detention center.

10. [Chongqing] Ms. Zhou Yonglan Sent to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Zhou Yonglan was arrested on the morning of September 10, 2013, while he was distributing information about the persecution of Falun Gong at the Shiqiaopu area. He was taken to the Geleshan Brainwashing Center.

11. [Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Yu Zhiying Arrested

Ms. Yu Zhiying was arrested at Hangzhou City on September 10, 2013.

12. [Chongqing] Mr. Peng Shigui Detained

Mr. Peng Shigui, 49, was arrested at home by officers from the Shapingba District Police Station and the Jingkou Police Station on the evening of September 6, 2013. The police confiscated his computer, printer, DVDs, materials pertaining to the persecution of Falun Gong and cash. He was taken to the Shapingba District Baiheling Detention Center.

Ms. He Caixia was arrested on the morning of September 10, 2013 while speaking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was taken to the Qiaozhuang Detention Center.

14. [Shiyan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Li Huifang and Ms. Zhang Xiaoxia Arrested; Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. Li Huifang and Ms. Zhang Xiaoxia were recently arrested. Their whereabouts are unknown.

15. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia] Mr. Wang Xuejun Physically Weakened due to Abuse

Mr. Wang Xuejun was arrested in August 2012 and sentenced to three and a half years in prison. He was brutally abused in prison. As a result, he is now emaciated and has been diagnosed with pleurisy and chest effusion. He has to be intubated to remove the effusion each day. In addition, Mr. Wang has no appetite.

16. [Shenzhou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Ruihua Detained

Ms. Wang Ruihua was arrested by the director of the Beishangzhuang Detention Center on the morning of September 11, 2013. Her computer and Falun Gong books were confiscated. She is being held at the Shenzhou City Detention Center.

17. [Anren County, Hunan Province] Ms. Zhang Meifa Sent to Forced Labor

Ms. Zhang Meifa was arrested at home by officers from the Anren County 610 Office and Domestic Security Division on May 13, 2013. Officers confiscated her computer, printer, and materials pertaining to the persecution of Falun Gong. She was taken to the County Police Department and was subsequently sentenced to one year of forced labor.
