Overcoming Barriers Among Practitioners and Forming a Solid One Body with Righteous Thoughts

Sept. 20, 2013

(Minghui.org) On the evening of September 2, 2013, coordinators in Sydney had a small cultivation experience sharing conference at the Sydney University of Technology. Every practitioner was able to look inward and listen to others. They opened their hearts to talk and share. The reason for the conference was to eliminate all barriers between them and work together as one body.

The first speaker's sharing was entitled “Those Who Can Assimilate to Dafa Have the Ultimate Happiness.” She mentioned that doing the exercises every day was a challenge for her. She realized that she was not tolerant when working on projects with fellow practitioners. She said, “Cultivation practice is a long process. It's also a hard and serious one. We must be diligent and cultivate solidly at each step. Even though we have studied the Fa, it is a must that we cultivate ourselves in every small thing so that we are able to do well what we're supposed to do and become qualified Dafa practitioners in the Fa-rectification period. Only in this way can the mighty power of Dafa be unveiled to us.”

A Western coordinator shared his experience. Because of the nature of his job, he has to get to his company earlier than others. He often meditates and sends righteous thoughts in the morning, which created many opportunities for him to clarify the truth to his coworkers. He said it's very beneficial for him to listen to Chinese practitioners sharing their experiences. He talked about how he clarifies the truth to government employees. When he's very diligent in cultivation, his body is healthy, but when he's not, he could immediately sense the difference.

Another coordinator started her sharing by talking about going to a practitioner's party. She often felt she was only an onlooker instead of a practitioner who should always looked inward. She loved to criticize others using her notions and failed to be considerate. During Fa-study, although she didn't talk very much, her attitude was not tolerant. She judged others from the perspective of someone who's not part of the group. As a result, she hasn't been able to do many things well or save people.

One coordinator talked about the three fire disasters he encountered as the beginning of his sharing. By looking inward, he found that his lack of compassion and being attached to his own ideas kept him from being diligent in cultivation. When he was not recognized, he felt unhappy and refused to cooperate or get involved. In many projects, he complained a lot to fellow practitioners, which affected his ability to save sentient beings. In the end, he said, “We should consider others first. That's what's recognized in the new universe.”

Another coordinator was very attached to doing more things. Consequently, he wasn't able to concentrate when studying the Fa. Moreover, he paid attention to every detail when doing everything, which led to his not wanting others to be involved. As time passed, he became more and more arrogant. By studying the Fa and looking inward, he found many human attachments. He said, “Only by cultivating oneself diligently and solidly can one eliminate those attachments.”

A coordinator in her 60s shared about how she let go of herself in conflicts. She said, “When I first obtained the Fa, I went everywhere to spread the Fa. After the persecution started, I went out to validate the Fa. But still, I didn't know how to truly cultivate myself. I wasn't able to pass many character tests. Most of the time I complained that fellow practitioners didn't understand what I did. I paid too much attention to who was right and who was wrong on the surface. I often compared what I had done well with others' shortcomings. I seldom measured myself according to the Fa. Again and again, I missed opportunities to improve myself. I only saw other people's problems instead of my own. After I let go of my attachment to self, I'm able to treat others with compassion. Since I spent much time clarifying the truth, I thought I was better than others. I also wasn't able to take suggestions from others. I forgot the fact that all my skills were given by Master and Dafa. Now I've come to understand what it means to be a true cultivator and be tolerant of others. Every one has different skills. If we collaborate well, we're able to pull our efforts together.” She also apologized to those she had hurt before.

The last speaker's sharing was titled, “To Become a True Practitioner.” She said, “You have to cultivate your character to be a true practitioner.” Even though she had taken over many projects that should have been assigned to others, fellow practitioners were still unsatisfied with her. Looking inward, she found that she was pursuing something: She hoped to be recognized and admired by others, and she felt uncomfortable when she wasn't acknowledged. She added, “Cultivation practice is not about how to do more things or whether you are right or wrong on the surface. You have to always consider others.” She recalled that back in the old days, she spent two hours in the morning doing the five sets of exercises. She studied the Fa at night and went out to clarify the truth on weekends. She said, “Now I'm a coordinator. I would not go out like before on weekends and only stayed home to send emails and make phone calls. My cultivation is not very solid.” She was afraid that if she went out to do things, others may say that she's a General doing a soldier's work. After she resumed clarifying the truth face to face outside on weekends, she was able to stay focused when studying the Fa. Many principles of the Fa were revealed to her. In the end, she added, “To be a coordinator and a true practitioner, you have to clarify the truth face to face and cultivate yourself besides doing coordination work. Only by doing that, can you improve yourself in Dafa.”

The two-hour long sharing conference was short, but very meaningful. The participants were in good spirits, sometimes collapsing in laughter over their shared experiences. One coordinator said she only wore a T-shirt and although it was freezing cold, she felt her body wrapped in warm energy. When she studied the Fa, her mind was very clear. The coordinators were happy to meet and discuss their cultivation. Although they studied the Fa every weekend, they never felt such a peaceful environment like this today. Barriers between them were eliminated. Everyone was able to sincerely look inward. During this conference, ten coordinators shared their experiences. Other conferences are planned in the following weeks. At the conclusion, everyone said they would encourage each other and improve.
