Mr. Xin Tingchao Detained in Beijing for Over Two Months

Sept. 27, 2013 |   By a Minghui correspondent in China

(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Xin Tingchao is a villager from Dongnanzu Village, Laishui County, Hebei Province. Mr. Xin was illegally arrested by police officers from the Beijing Asian Games Village Police Station on June 14, 2013. He was detained at the Chaoyang Detention Center, and then the Beijing No.1 Detention Center, where he is still held. When his family members went to Beijing to look for him, they heard that so-called “case investigators” were collecting “evidence” to use against him.

Mr. Xin went to Beijing for work during the slow time in the farming season, and he gave a Shen Yun DVD to an elderly lady who worked at his construction site. Unfortunately, this lady reported him to the local police station. (Due to the communist regime's vicious propaganda, some Chinese are fearful of accepting informational materials from Falun Gong practitioners and automatically report them to the police.) This led to Mr. Xin's arrest on June 14, 2013 and his detention thereafter.

After Mr. Xin had been detained for 37 days, his five family members came and waited for his release. They waited an entire day and night at the gate of the Chaoyang District Detention Center. At the end of the business day, his family asked the detention center, and they were told Mr. Xin was still inside. By the second morning, when they asked again, they were told that Mr. Xin had been taken somewhere else. Later, after repeated inquiries, they were told that he had been transferred to the Beijing No.1 Detention Center.

His family members, neighbors, relatives and friends are all very worried about him and are working hard to have him released. Some of his fellow villagers told the police officers, “Xin Tingchao is a good person, he believes in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, he's a great person!” His relatives and friends asked the police, “What's wrong with giving people DVDs to promote our true Chinese culture? He didn't break any laws, so why did you arrest him?” His family and friends are doing everything they can to get him released.
