Jan. 30, 2014 |   By a Minghui correspondent from Heilongjiang Province

(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zuo Xianfeng is an English teacher at Sandaogang Middle School in Yilan. At 3:15 p.m. on January 6, Ms. Zuo was called to the office of the school principal, Yu Delin. He and Li Yuwen, head of the police station, attempted to force her to resign.

Principal and Police Chief Gang up on Teacher

As soon as Ms. Zuo entered the office, principal Yu Delin started to shout abuses at her. Officer Li Yuwen was sitting on the sofa and Su Lirong, head of Politics and Education in the school, was filming the encounter.

Ms. Zuo was petrified and had no idea what was happening. Principal Yu refused to let her speak, pounded the table, and threatened to fire her. Ms. Zuo stared at him in horror. Yu almost hit her, but Su Lirong stopped him.

Then officer Li also started to curse at her. Ms. Zuo said, “You are a public servant, so please mind your language.” He replied, “I’m just a rogue, so what?”

Ms. Zuo asked what was wrong. Li answered, “You made trouble in Hulan.”

Ms. Zuo explained, “I went to Hulan to see my father. How was that making trouble? He has been sentenced to six years in Hulan Prison and is being brutally mistreated.” Li interrupted her when she tried to talk about her visit to the prison. He shouted, “We won’t listen; you’re putting pressure on us.”

He ordered Ms. Zuo to submit either her resignation or a written note promising not to visit her father in Hulan Prison. When Ms. Zuo refused to do either, Li stood up and tried to hit her.

When Ms. Zuo asked him why he wanted to hit her, he said, “You aren't pleasing to the eye; I will teach you a lesson.” He dragged her to the corner of the room and made her stand. He then grabbed her glasses and smashed them on the table. He and Yu Delin continued to threaten and hurl insults at Ms. Zuo for half an hour.

After Ms. Zuo returned home, she was so terrified that she cried and experienced heart palpitations.

When she went to work the next day, she trembled so much that she could not settle down. Her left arm also went numb. Unable to calm down, she decided to return home.

Detained in a Labor Camp for Nearly Two Years

Ms. Zuo, 33, has been rated an outstanding teacher in the county, and her classes have won prizes in county competitions. Her co-workers, students, and members of the school board admire her for her kindness and honesty.

Ms. Zuo started to practice Falun Gong to achieve overall health and fitness but has been relentlessly persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party.

In spite of a shortage of teachers in the fall of 2009, the Yilan Bureau of Education collaborated with Xu Haibo, head of the 610 Office, and ordered then-principal Qu Changhe to not let Ms. Zuo teach.

Ms. Zuo was arrested on May 30, 2010, for giving people Shen Yun DVDs. Zhang Yingduo and Song Yuze, head and vice head of the Yilan National Security Division, and then-vice principal Yu Delin ransacked Ms. Zuo’s sister’s house and took her copy of Zhuan Falun.

The staff of Sandaogang Middle School also cooperated with the police to search Ms. Zuo’s office and confiscate her books. These items became “evidence” used to falsely accuse Ms. Zuo of "threatening social stability." She was sentenced to one and a half years of forced labor.

On June 23, 2010, Ms. Zuo taken to Qianjin Forced Labor Camp in Harbin. In an attempt to force her to renounce her belief in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, she was insulted, abused, and tortured. This included the use of electric batons, the “big hang-up,” solitary confinement, the iron chair, beatings, standing for long periods of time, being exposed to freezing temperatures, force-feeding, and more.

Ms. Zuo was nearly persecuted to death. She protested by going on a hunger strike, and the labor camp added 61 days to her term.

After a year and eight months, Ms. Zuo was released on February 28, 2012. But the Yilan County Board of Education and Sandaogang Middle School withheld her pay, and, under orders from 610 Office head Xu Haibo, refused to let her teach.

It is important to note that, on July 31, 2012, two officers from Yilan attempted to obtain DNA samples of Ms. Zuo's epithelial tissue. This was suspected to be related to a screening for organ harvesting.
