(Minghui.org) Ms. Shan Changying, 72, was detained for telling others the facts about Falun Gong and the persecution. The Procuratorate approved the arrest after the fact and intends to send her to court.
Ms. Shan from Fushun City was clarifying the facts about Falun Gong at Fushun South Railway Station on September 23, 2014, when someone reported her. Officers from the Yong'antai Police Station arrested her and told her family that she would be released in a week. Seven days later, however, her family received an arrest warrant from the Xinfu District Procuratorate.
Ms. Shan has been arrested and persecuted numerous times since the onset of the persecution of Falun Gong on July 20, 1999.
For taking part in Falun Gong group exercises in a park in October 1999, she was arrested. She was detained for a month and fined 1,000 yuan before being released.
She was studying Falun Gong books on February 25, 2000 at another practitioner's home when she was arrested and taken to the Fushun Forced Labor Camp. Ms. Shan went on a hunger strike to protest. She was released one month later.
Ms. Shan went to another practitioner's home to get a copy of the articles by the founder of Falun Gong in 2004. Police arrested and detained her for two weeks.
She was telling the vendors at a farmer market about Falun Gong at the beginning of 2007. A woman from the countryside dragged her to the local police station. Ms. Shan reasoned with the police, explaining the facts about Falun Gong, and was able to return home safely after 5 p.m.
She and another practitioner were raising awareness about Falun Gong in August 2011 when someone reported them. The police took them to the brainwashing center at Luotai Mountain Resort in Fushun City for a month.
