Four Xinxiang Falun Gong Practitioners Illegally Sentenced to Prison

(Minghui.org) Two female Falun Gong practitioners were illegally sentenced to prison early this year in Xinxiang City, Henan Province. Another two practitioners were sentenced to prison at the end of last year.

Ms. Wang Jizhou, 73, was sentenced to 12 years in prison for producing informational materials that explain the facts of Falun Gong. She was reported and arrested on November 29, 2013 by officers from the Weibei Police Station. Police ransacked her home and confiscated a large amount of cash, a computer, printer, cell phones and other personal items.

Ms. Li Ruifang who was visiting Ms. Wang at the time was also arrested.

Ms. Wang was released on bail the next day, but Ms. Li was taken to a detention center even though both failed the physical exam for admittance to a detention center.

The two were tried on April 29, 2014, and sentenced in June 2014. Ms. Wang was taken to Henan Women's Prison. Ms. Li was sentenced to five years and is serving at Zhengzhou Prison.

In addition, two other practitioners from Xingxiang were sentenced to prison in late 2013.

Ms. Zou Longyu, 70, was arrested by officers from Dihuang Police Station in August 2013. She was sentenced to three years and taken to Henan Women's Prison.

Ms. Fu Shanqing, 66, was arrested in 2013. She was tried and sentenced to three years in prison. Her family only found out her whereabouts after she was taken to a prison.
