Oct. 22, 2014 |   By Hua Qing

(Minghui.org) Australian practitioners set up a booth in Ashfield, one of the areas populated by Chinese in Sydney, on October 12, 2014, to raise awareness of the persecution of Falun Gong in China. Many people signed petitions in support, and more than a dozen Chinese quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to have a good future.

The event was held to celebrate 180 million Chinese that have quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations. Practitioners set up banners and posters, and distributed informational materials to local residents as well as tourists.

Construction business owner Glen Rosendale said he often saw practitioners holding such events. “My wife is from South Korea and I know the vicious deeds that the CCP has done.” Rosendale had heard in the past about the organ harvesting from living practitioners in China, “I will not only sign the petition to support you, but I will also tell my family and friends so that they will join this effort.”

Mr. and Mrs. Malek, a couple who walked past and signed the petition said they were very sad to hear about the live organ harvesting,“We both have cancer, but we cherish our physical body and would never receive organs harvested from involuntary live people. “We hope more people will come to know about this tragedy and pay attention to it,” they said.

Two sisters walking by saw the banners and were shocked. They stopped to inquire what had happened and signed the petition. “I will tell my friends about it and post it on my Facebook page,” one of them said, “ to help expose this crime so it can end.”

Police officers were also interested and willing to help. John, the practitioner who organized the event said a policewoman came by when he and other practitioners were setting up the booth. “You did great, and you are not blocking traffic, either,” praised the police officer. She signed the petition and left her contact information, “Give us a call whenever you need assistance.”

“I Know All This Is Real”

Practitioner volunteers Susan and Jade were walking around to tell Chinese the facts of Falun Gong and ask if they would like to quit the CCP for a better future. One middle-aged man said he was a CCP member, but he had not joined any party activity for many years.

“Since everyone made a vow when joining the CCP organizations, one has to formally declare to quit the organizations to be safe when the Party falls,” Susan explained, “Even a nickname or pseudonym will work.”

“No problem, please help me with it,” he said.

Practitioner Jade said that after years of effort, many Chinese have come to know the truth and quit the CCP. Some continue to come by from time to time to check if there were new informational materials or posters. “One of them is a Chinese man in his 30s, who often comes here to pick up newly printed materials. He thanked us many times and said, 'I have been through many political campaigns and I know all this is real.'”
