(Minghui.org) A young man from Hubei was arrested on October 14. His family tried to find him but government officials blocked their search. When the family finally located him at a detention center, the facility denied them the right to visit.
Mr. Tang Chunhui (汤春辉), 29, lived in Gong'an County, Hubei Province. When he was in school, he gambled and often skipped classes. On a whim, he began to practice Falun Gong, and experienced great changes in his life. He changed and learned how to be good. He got rid of his bad habits and treated others kindly. People who knew him were amazed and commented on the change.
On October 14, Mr. Tang accompanied two older female Falun Gong practitioners to a village to inform people about the persecution of Falun Gong. The village's communist party secretary and police from Mahaokou Police Station soon arrived and arrested all three practitioners. They later released the two ladies.
Xie Feng, Deputy Director of Gong'an 610 Office, and Xiang Xiaoyang, Deputy Manager of Gong'an Domestic Security Team, decided to put Mr. Tang in Gong'an Detention Center. They didn't notify Mr. Tang's family.
When Mr. Tang's family discovered where he was, they went to the 610 office several times to ask Xie to release Mr. Tang. Each time they were told that Xie was not in the office. They waited for a long time, but still couldn't see him.
Mr. Tang's family had no choice but to go to Xie's home. Xie denied involvement in Mr. Tang's case. After Mr. Tang's family member told him that they knew he gave the detention order, Xie changed his story to say that Mr. Tang would attend a “study” session for a few days and told them not to worry. Xie refused to tell the family where Mr. Tang was detained.
Mr. Tang's family found out about the detention center on their own. When they came to the detention center to request a visit, they were told that they needed to bring a note from a government official in order to visit Mr. Tang.
Mr. Tang's family had no choice but to go to Xie's home again on the morning of October 17. Xie wrote a note at the family's urging.
However, when Mr. Tang's family went to the detention center with the note, the detention center only took the clothes they brought for Mr. Tang. Then guards locked the door. They refused to admit the family no matter how much they pleaded to see him.
Mr. Tang's wife went to the 610 office and talked to Director Cai Xiaodong, but did not receive any help.
