(Minghui.org) Six Falun Gong practitioners in Shandong were tried by Gaomi Court on October 14, 2014 for installing satellite dishes that allow viewers to receive uncensored overseas TV programs. Their family members were outraged by the judge's hostility and disruptions of the defense during the trial.
The six practitioners were arrested by police officers from Weifang and Gaomi on April 4, 2014. The police confiscated satellite dishes, computers, printers and other items from their homes.
Before the arrests, police had tapped the practitioners' cell phones and monitored their daily activities for months.
The judge allowed only one family member for each practitioner to attend the trial. The rest of the courtroom was filled with police officers. One practitioner's family member was shocked at the sight of the practitioner's injuries, which appeared to be the result of torture.
Two practitioners defended themselves at the hearing, stating that they did not break the law by watching uncensored TV programs or installing satellite dishes.
The judge adjourned the trial without issuing a verdict. In similar cases, the Communist Party-controlled court system has used this delay tactic to fabricate evidence against the practitioners.
The six practitioners had been detained at Weifang Detention Center for six months before the trial. Their names are Shan Yicheng (单亦成), Du Qihai (杜启海), Liu Wenming (刘文明), Jing Xiuling (荆秀玲), Zhang Menglei (张孟雷), and Chen Guangxia (陈广霞).
