(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Gong Haiou (龚海鸥), in his early 30s, was arrested for a second time on April 3, 2014. His current whereabouts are unknown. Prior to this, he had spent ten years of his young adulthood in prison because he refused to give up his belief in Falun Gong.
His arrest has recently been approved by the local procuratorate. He again faces an illegal trial and sentence.
His family learned from the local police station that he was arrested for disseminating information about Falun Gong and the persecution via a microblog on the Internet.
Mr. Gong's April arrest came only a few years after his release in 2011. He obtained employment and provided for his elderly parents during the recent years. He nursed his father around the clock after his rectal surgery in 2013. He used the money he had earned to renovate his parents' old home.
Mr. Gong's father is hoping for his return every day and was sick a few times due to constant worry.
Mr. Gong was sentenced to ten years of prison in January 2001. Police officers tried to extract a confession by torture. He was covered with cuts and bruises as a result of the physical abuse, and was in such poor physical condition that he could not look after himself.
He refused to accept the sentence and appealed to a higher court. The court ignored his appeal, and even forged his agreement of the verdict. He was taken to the No. 3 Prison in Harbin and later transferred to the Daqing Prison in 2004.
