(Minghui.org) Ms. Lu Xueqin, Ms. Liu Xiuzhen, and Ms. Cui Luning were taken to the Shandong Province Women's Prison on October 22, 2014, to serve their prison terms after their appeals were denied. Ms. Lu is currently in bad health.
The three practitioners were among a dozen practitioners arrested in Qingtao on May 2, 2013, for re-enacting torture methods. They wanted to expose the unprecedented persecution of Falun Gong. Ms. Lu was sentenced to a ten-year prison term, Ms. Cui to 5.5 years, and Ms. Liu 3 years.
The practitioners' lawyers appealed to the Qingdao City Intermediate Court because the practitioners were illegally sentenced. However, the court refused to re-open their cases, and rejected the appeal. The families of the three practitioners were not notified, and had not been allowed to see the practitioners for 18 months.
When the families of Ms. Lu and Ms. Liu learned that the three practitioners were being taken to the prison on October 22, they waited in their cars by the detention center gate. They followed the car that held the practitioners, hoping for a chance to see them.
The police noticed the families' cars however, and stopped Ms. Lu's husband's car at a highway toll booth. An officer approached him with a gun in his hand. Ms. Lu's husband told him that he simply wanted to see his wife's face, since her health was bad. The officer nonetheless attempted to break the window of his car.
