(Minghui.org) Mr. Wu Junhe (吴俊和) was arrested along with several other practitioners on March 20, 2014 by the Fuxin City Police, Liaoning Province. His rental residence was ransacked and all cash confiscated without any family members present or any legal notice.
The arrest was ordered by Zhang Tiemin, Chinese Communist Party (CCP) secretary of Fuxin City, as an act of revenge because Zhang received a telephone call from an unknown Falun Gong practitioner trying to persuade him to stop persecuting practitioners.
Mr. Wu's case was rejected twice by the Fumeng Local Procuratorate for lack of evidence. However, under pressure from Wang Qiubo, deputy secretary of Fuxin City Politics and Law Committee, and Yang Zhenfu, police chief of Fuxin City, the Fumeng County Procuratorate officially indicted Mr. Wu and three other practitioners on December 12, 2014. Mr. Wu's case has been filed with the Fumeng City Court, awaiting trial.
Mr. Wu, in his 60's, was a prosecutor in the Fumeng County Procuratorate, Fuxin City. He was fired from his post and sentenced to two years of forced labor for practicing Falun Gong, despite the fact that he was well respected by colleagues and known for honesty and integrity.
Mr. Wu had heart disease and other illnesses, which was difficult for him as well as his family. As a retired military man, he was assertive and quick-tempered. After practicing Falun Gong, his illnesses were cured. He also became amicable and considerate to others.
Having benefited from the practice, Mr. Wu was enthusiastic in telling people about Falun Gong and why the CCP is persecuting it. However, such a simple act landed him in detention. He has been incarcerated since his arrest last March.
