Mian County Police Officer Hu Junjian: A Key Persecutor of Falun Dafa

Dec. 30, 2014 |   By Ms. Du Shuhui from Mian County, Shaanxi Province, China

(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Du Shuhui from Mian County, Shaanxi Province has been constantly harassed since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started persecuting Falun Dafa in July 1999. Her money has been extorted, and she's been illegally arrested and sentenced multiple times over the past 15 years.

Ms. Du was arrested again in September 2013. During a trial at the Hanzhong City Court on April 9, 2014, she suffered an episode of epilepsy and had difficulty speaking during the trial. She is currently held at the Hantai Detention Center in Hanzhong City.

Ms. Du's following account describes the persecution she suffered at the hands of police officer Hu Junjian of the local Domestic Security Division.

The Police Stole My Money

Police officers from the Mian County Domestic Security Division arrested me on the evening of September 26, 2013. They broke into my home and took me to the Chengdong Police Station. Officer Hu Junjian confiscated my retirement payment card, ID card, a mobile phone, computer, printer, and 2,000 yuan.

Hu had me locked to a chair for two days during their interrogation of me at the Chengdong Police Station. I suffered multiple episodes of epilepsy, however, Hu continued his harsh treatment of me. He refused to return the cash that was confiscated. After I was transferred to the Hantai District Detention Center on September 28, Hu threatened and cursed me. He said, “I've spent the money on this case. You're not getting it back.”

Hu Actively Involved in the Persecution

When I went to Beijing to appeal for the right to practice Falun Dafa in March 2001, Hu arrested me at Tiananmen Square and took me to the Hanzhong City Liaison Office in Beijing. Although he issued a receipt for the 2,980 yuan cash confiscated, the amount was not specified and he never gave it to me. Hu said that he would give it to my husband once we returned to Mian County but he never did.

I was sentenced to forced labor for two years after being arrested. I later learned that more than 20 local practitioners were arrested around the same time, and among them, 15 were sentenced to prison or forced labor. The Mian County Domestic Security Division was rewarded 100,000 yuan and Hu was promoted.

Hu framed and produced fake evidence against a local practitioner who had never left his home, saying that he had put up a banner with Falun Dafa content on a bridge. When another practitioner stepped up to admit that he was the one who put up the banner, Hu simply replied, “Too late,” and had them both sentenced to three years of forced labor.

After being released from the forced labor camp in 2003, I asked that Hu return the money he confiscated. He tried to avoid me and threatened to put me in jail if I asked for the money again. He told me the money was gone and pushed me out in front of the entire division of police officers.
