Ms. Guan Shuli Arrested and Detained; Procuratorate Approves Arrest After the Fact

Feb. 1, 2014 |   By a Minghui correspondent from Heilongjiang Province, China

(Minghui.org) Ms. Guan Shuli and her husband Mr. Feng Xue were illegally arrested on December 6, 2013. Officials from the Daoli Procuratorate then approved the arrest on January 10, 2014.

Ms. Guan's lawyer from Beijing submitted a written application in accordance with Chinese law to the Daoli Procuratorate on January 14, 2014, requesting that they revoke Ms. Guan's arrest warrant.

About 17 police officers participated in the arrest of Ms. Guan and her husband in Xinfa Town, Daoli District, Harbin City in Heilongjiang Province. The officers refused to identify themselves and gave no reason for the arrests. They ransacked the couple's home without presenting a search warrant , and confiscated a car and approximately 10,000 yuan in cash.

Ms. Guan was taken to Xinnong Town Police Station, where she was brutally kicked by a male officer. She was interrogated by the head of the police station Tian Xuebin and an instructor on December 9 or 10.

When Ms. Guan was shown the police interrogation report, she noticed that it contained incorrect information about her two younger brothers. The report stated that they were Falun Gong practitioners and had distributed Falun Gong informational materials. Ms. Guan corrected the information as they are not practitioners, nor have they distributed Falun Gong materials. After she did this, the officers threatened to beat her if she dared to correct the report again.

No further information is currently available on Ms. Guan's situation.
