(Minghui.org) I was arrested and sent to a brainwashing center back in 2002. The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) department in my county detained key Falun Gong practitioners from each organization in the city and town, sending them to the brainwashing center. I met a practitioner there who told me his remarkable story. He suffered from a fatal disease, recovering after he practiced Falun Gong.

This man's body became swollen in May 1998. A medical exam revealed that it was because of his diseased liver. He was hospitalized for a month but his condition did not improve. He spent all of his savings, ten thousand yuan, on medical treatment.

His wife asked the doctor if her husband could recover. She explained, while crying, that they had already used all their savings trying to improve his health. The doctor was sympathetic, then explained to her that her husband suffered from late stage liver cirrhosis. There was no cure for this disease, he could die at any time.

The man's wife was terribly distraught. The doctor tried to comfort her, and told her to try to look happy and be optimistic for her husband. He told her that this could help him live longer. The doctor prescribed some medicine and said to her: “Please tell your husband that the doctor told you he can recover slowly at home.”

So his wife took him home.

A short time later, his wife came home and told him about people practicing Falun Gong in the neighboring village. She had heard that Falun Gong could cure any disease. She asked him if he would like to give it a try. He was doubtful, but had nothing to lose. He went and watched the practitioners do the exercises, and followed along.

When the Falun Gong practitioners read the book out loud together, he listened. Later he bought his own copy of Zhuan Falun and read it by himself. One month later the swelling was reduced and he was able to eat normally again. Two months later he felt completely recovered. After three months, it was harvest time, and he and his wife were busy harvesting corn and peanuts.

After the harvest, he went to the hospital with his wife for a check up. The same doctor was there that had seen him previously. The doctor did not recognize him and asked him what was wrong. He said he wanted a check up for his liver. When the lab report was given to the doctor, he told them everything looked completely normal.

The doctor was ready to move on to the next patient, when this man's wife asked him if he remembered them. The doctor confessed that he did not recognize either of them. So she explained to him who they were.

Then the doctor remembered and asked, “What medicine did you take? Where did you go to have your illness cured?” The man explained to him that he did not go anywhere or take medicine. He said, "I have been practicing Falun Gong! Once I began the practice, my health improved every day. I have regained my strength, so I came today for a check up.” The doctor suddenly understood and said, “Falun Gong is so effective. You recovered from such a fatal disease. It is remarkable!”

Many doctors and nurses in the county hospital started to practice Falun Gong after hearing this remarkable story from the doctor.

I also was very encouraged upon hearing his story.

After the persecution of Falun Gong began, this practitioner was arrested several times. One day the Party secretary in the Political and Legal Department asked him what benefits he received from practicing Falun Gong. With many people listening, he said to him, “Go to the county hospital and ask the doctor what disease I used to have and how I recovered. Then you will understand the benefits I received from such a remarkable practice.” The Party secretary was speechless. He left the room.

When I recalled this story ten years later, it was still so vivid to me. He regarded himself a genuine practitioner and believed in Master one hundred percent. Thus Master took away all of his disease. He is very healthy and bathed in Master's saving grace.
