(Minghui.org) Feng Mei is from Er’daojiu Village, in Xicheng County, Helong City, Yanbian. She was arrested while selling fruit at a market, and taken to the Yadong Brainwashing Center on July 22, 2012, where she was severely tortured.
The following is Ms. Feng Mei's personal report:
I went to the market in Bajiazi Town on July 22, 2012, with fruit that I had grown. I was selling the fruit there for the first time. Officers Song Xiaowei and Cui from the Xicheng Town Police Station followed me from my home to the market in their police vehicle at around 6:00 a.m. When they approached me, I begged them not to arrest me, because my entire family depended on the money that I made from selling fruit. Since we had no other income, we had to sell it right away, otherwise the fruit would rot. Therefore, all of our efforts over the past six months would be wasted, and we would be ruined. They did not listen to me at all.
Another police vehicle arrived at around 8 or 9 o’clock, with five to six people. I did not know any of them. I heard from Song Xiaowei that one of them was director Fang from the Xicheng Town Police Station. Another was CCP Secretary General Li Yueman from the Xicheng Town Comprehensive Management Office.
They viciously pushed my fruit stand aside and Li Yueman yelled out loud that I should go to the police station, as they had a case that needed my cooperation. I answered loudly, “If you have anything to discuss, we can just talk about it here. Why do you want me to go to the police station?”
Several of them then dragged and pushed me into the police vehicle, drove to Yadong, to the Yadong'shuiku Police Training Grounds (I could see the house number and nameplate) at Longmenkou. This was in fact a brainwashing center where Falun Gong practitioners are detained and tortured.
At the Yadong Brainwashing Center, Zhao from the Xicheng Town Comprehensive Management Office monitored me. She brought me meals and followed me wherever I went, including when I washed myself or went to the bathroom. The rest of the time, Wu Meihua and Pu Yingzi from Yanji forced me to watch a video that defamed Dafa and Master. When I refused to watch the video, Pu Yingzi hit my legs with a book.
On the evening of July 23, I felt very confused and stressed. I said to Zhao, “Can you please tell whoever makes decisions to come here? I feel so uncomfortable. I need to ask my family to take me to a doctor.” In fact, my husband had been there that very day and wanted to visit me, but they did not allow it. Li Chunzhi, the director of the politics department of the brainwashing center, arrived soon. He was also the CCP Secretary General of the Helong City Political and Legal Affairs Committee. He did not give me an answer.
Pu Yingzhi, Wu Meihua, and a police officer came by on July 24 and yelled at me, “If you feel confused, then stand up in the corner.” A collaborator, who claimed to be Li Yajuan from Helong City, stepped into the room with a pile of CDs in her hand.
She shouted, “If you die, you will only add one more to the record, just like one of these CDs.” I sat up for a while but could not sit longer. I then lay down. A little later, Pu Yingzhi and Wu Meihua poked needles into my hands, which caused extreme pain. I was tortured to such an extent that I could not eat my lunch.
Zhao gave me a bowl of soup that night. After I had eaten it, I felt extremely restless and anxious the entire night. I felt like I was running wildly. I was very uncomfortable, and could neither lie down nor sit up. Song Xiuqin, a collaborator from Yanji, shouted out loudly, “Are you going to sleep or not? If you cannot fall asleep, you'll keep others from sleeping.”
Wu Meihua came into the room early on the morning of July 25, and yelled, “Today, you don’t need to leave this room. Just urinate or defecate into this garbage bin. You are not allowed to wash or take a shower.”
It was so hot, and I did not know what to do, since the windows and doors were all closed tightly. Wu Meihua and Shao Ling, another collaborator from Huadian in Changchun, came in at noon and poked needles into my arms. It was extremely painful and I don’t know how long they had been needling me.
Wu Meihua, Pu Yingzi, Li Meijuan, Shao Ling, a police officer, and 610 Office Director Pu took me to the second floor at around 4:00 or 5:00 p.m. They said they would be torturing me because I was not obedient.
They took out a cloth band that was two or three meters long. One of my feet was bound on one side, and my hands on the other side. My arms were pulled back, and two strings were used to tie up my body tightly. I heard that one person who suffered from this kind of punishment had her anus protrude two to three inches. Shao Ling said that I would experience intense pain. That was why they took me to the second floor. They did not want others to hear me crying out loud during the torture.
I don't know how long they had been torturing me before I got very sweaty and they untied me.
I heard a sound at around 7:00 or 8:00 p.m., like several individuals dragging a person on the second floor. It seemed like they had covered the mouth of that person, since he could hardly utter a sound. Wu Meihua was saying, “Who is this drunk that comes in here.” She opened the door and took a look.
I soon heard a painful moaning that can hardly be described with words. The sound absolutely terrified me. About two hours later, I heard that person being slapped twice on his face. Immediately after that, I heard two small glass bottles, which had contained some kind of injections, being thrown into the garbage. Two persons left, walking softly, and closed the door behind them. It was then dead quiet right next door. I was terrified and my eyes were opened wide. I pretended I was snoring and asleep.
In the morning on July 26, I went to the washroom, and saw the words “weapons storage” on the next door. I heard someone talking on the ground floor, “Director Li Chunzhi won’t be able to continue without drinking alcohol. I saw Li Chunzhi standing in the back yard and his eyes were red. Thinking of the horrific thing that happened the previous night, I asked myself if it was possible that they tortured that person to death, threw him or her into the reservoir, and then added one more name to the list, just like what Li Yajuan said. I didn't dare continue thinking about this.
Wu Meihua then forced me to watch a video that defamed Master. The window in the room where I was being held was opened at around 9 o’clock. I looked at the window and thought to myself, “Maybe I should just jump out of the window from here. At least I won’t be thrown into the reservoir then.” So I jumped out of the window from the second floor. I lost consciousness when I hit the ground, but I could still hear many people come running out from the room. One of them asked to watch the Falun Gong practitioners inside the room, so they would not see what had happened.
One more person asked the 610 Office director whether they should continue to torture me. Director Pu said that it would not be interesting now. One person held up my leg and shook it violently. Another one said, “Stop shaking, can't you see that the bone is fractured? There is also blood under the lower part of her body. Take her to the hospital as soon as possible.”
I was taken to Yanbian Hospital, where I was diagnosed with a compound fracture of my leg. The moment we arrived at the hospital, team leader Zhang Baohua, from the Helong Domestic Security Division, took a group of people with him and yelled in the hospital ward where I was staying, “No one is allowed to talk freely about this. Otherwise you will have to accept legal responsibilities.”
Two police officers monitored me in my room around the clock, and recorded everyone that came into the room. They also took pictures later. I underwent surgery at the Yanbian Hospital.
I come from the countryside and had countryside medical insurance. Pu Yingzhi lied to my husband and told him that we should ask Li Chunzhi for reimbursement after I was discharged from the hospital, as Li had his way of getting over-reimbursed, as Pu put it.
I was discharged from the hospital after a day. Li Yueman came to my home and took away all the receipts. My husband asked him for money several times, but Li did not give him any. One month later, they returned the money and reimbursed us about 30 percent of the expenditures.
They had lied to my husband, saying that they would reimburse us 80 to 90 percent of the charges. As of today, I still cannot do any farm work, and I have no strength in my lower back and legs. This has brought tremendous financial difficulties to my family.
