(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Xudong, 28, was on trial for the second time on November 8, 2013 for practicing Falun Gong and living by the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. No verdict was handed down.
The prior trial was on October 14, 2013 and concluded without her being convicted due to lack of substantive evidence.
She was defended by a human rights lawyer from Beijing.
She has been illegally detained by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) for one year and three months. She has been and still is being tortured, forced to perform hard labor, and the officials have forbidden family visits for over one year. Torture methods suffered by Ms. Wang include sleep deprivation and beatings.
Arrest, Confiscation and Detention
Ms. Wang and a friend, Ms. An Qiufen, were arrested at 5 p.m. on November 3, 2012. More than 17 officers from the Tangshan City Police Department, Lubei District Police Department, Dalilu Police Station, secretly broke into Ms. Wang's home at 3 p.m. the same day. They confiscated a desktop computer, a laptop and books. They followed her during the two hours between the break in and arrest.
The police did not notify Ms. Wang's family about her arrest. They found out on November 8 that she was first taken to the Fengrun Brainwashing Center and then transferred to the Tangshan No. 1 Detention Center.
She was transferred to the Fengrun Brainwashing Center one month later and then transferred back to the Tangshan City No. 1 Detention Center 20 days later.
Background
Ms. Wang and Ms. Zhou Guirong, her mother, started to practice Falun Gong in 1998. She benefited greatly from the practice, which included returning to good health.
After she graduated from the Department of Japanese Language of the Tangshan Broadcasting TV University, she worked for the Skills Training School, the Coaching School for Middle and Elementary School as a counselor.
We appeal to human rights organizations, people worldwide and government officials from inside China and the international community, especially those from Hebei Province and Tangshan City, to help Ms. Wang Xudong and many other practitioners to gain their freedom. Most importantly, we are asking for an end to the persecution.
