Jilin Detention Center Guard Insists: “His Death Had Nothing To Do with Us”

Feb. 6, 2014 |   By a Minghui correspondent from China

(Minghui.org) When Ms. Che Pingping's lawyer went to visit her in the Jilin Detention Center on December 22, 2013, she had been on a hunger strike for over 60 days and was in critical condition as a result of brutal force-feeding.

When the lawyer mentioned practitioner Mr. Wang Jianguo, who died as a result of force-feeding, a guard nearby raged, “His death had nothing to do with us.”

Who did persecute Mr. Wang Jianguo to death? Who gave the order to arrest Ms. Che Pingping? Who is abusing Ms. Che in the detention center? Whoever is doing these things needs to be held responsible.

Mr. Wang Jianguo was born in 1976. He practiced martial arts with his father, who opened a martial arts school and was known as a martial arts master. Both Mr. Wang and his father became Falun Dafa practitioners in May of 1995, and they both began to abide by the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.

Mr. Wang and his wife, Ms. Zhao Qiumei, were illegally arrested by Tan Xinqiang from the Nanjing Police Station in the Chuanying District on March 2, 2006. Ms. Zhao was sentenced to one year of forced labor. Mr. Wang was tortured in the police station and then transferred to the Jilin Detention Center. After he began a hunger strike in protest, he was savagely force-fed.

He died 40 days later at the age of 30.

His family set up a shrine in their yard in his memory in April 2006. They displayed the following message: “Persecuting good people heaven forbids. Parents bury young son with grief unspoken, Tragic death after 40 days in detention.” Panicked, the Changyi Police Department Subdivision director and about 40 officers in 13 vehicles went to Mr. Wang's home, sealed all the roads around it, and tore down the shrine when no one was at home. They said, “This is a bad influence.”

Mr. Wang Jianguo's wife was forced to leave home and has been living under tremendous pressure. She has written letters to the 610 Office, police departments, the domestic security bureau, the procuratorate, courts, and residential committees to try to explain the truth about Falun Gong.

Ms. Che Pingping, 40, used to teach at a college. She worked hard and was admired by her students. Because she will not give up practicing Falun Gong, she has been persecuted since she was 25 years old. Worried about her safety, her parents got ill and died.

Officer Bai Shan from the Beishan Police Station was hiding in Ms. Che's residential building on the 6 th floor and monitoring her apartment on the morning of October 18, 2013. When Ms. Che left her apartment, Bai Shan and three plainclothes agents seized her and took her to the police station.

When her lawyer learned how Ms. Che was arrested and held, he stated that, since Ms. Che did not commit any crime, she should be immediately released without condition.
