(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Wang Zexuan, Mr. Wang Daigui, and Ms. Zhou Bangqin were put on trial in the Naxi District Court at 9 a.m. on January 10, 2014. Two lawyers from Beijing pleaded not guilty on their behalf, but the judge interrupted the defense arguments and tried to illegally sentence the practitioners because they had 34 Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs in their possession.
The three practitioners also stated their innocence in a statement to the court.
Ms. Zhou quoted existing Chinese law to defend herself. She then said, “I'm not guilty. It is all of you that are guilty.”
The trial was held seven months after the practitioners were incarcerated in the Naxi Detention Center in Luzhou City, Sichuan Province.
Approximately 80 relatives, friends, and other practitioners, ages 8 to 80, from Chishui City and Luzhou City stood outside the courthouse in support of the three practitioners for about five hours, despite the cold and rain.
Some talked to the police and plainclothes officers stationed outside the courthouse. The officers photographed, videotaped, and recorded their activities during the trial.
These supporters spoke about the persecution of Falun Gong. They said for everyone to hear: “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good. Falun Dafa is good. Heaven will eliminate the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Quitting the CCP will ensure your safety. Violating the law is a crime.”
The three practitioners, who live in Chishui City, were arrested by Baihe Police Station officers on June 7, 2013, for distributing Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs. They were taken to the Naxi Detention Center by the Naxi Domestic Security Division and 610 Office.
