(Minghui.org) Eight Falun Gong practitioners in Jinzhou City were illegally arrested while distributing informational materials about Falun Gong in a local community on the night of October 18, 2013.
The police also ransacked the practitioners' homes and took away many personal belongings. The next day, the practitioners were sent to the Jinzhou City Detention center. Local police had been following and monitoring the eight practitioners for several days before the arrest.
The practitioners arrested were Mr. Wang Lin, Ms. Zhu Ying, Ms. Wang Guixia, Ms. Qin Jielan, Mr. Yang Yufan, Ms. Lou Mengli, Ms. Cao Yuhuan and Ms. Sun Lijun. Police officers Bai Ning, Li Meishan and others from the Jinzhou City Police Department participated in the arrest.
Mr. Wang Lin is awaiting trial under trumped up charges and has been detained at the Jinzhou City Detention Center. He has been subjected to brutal tortures for four months under the direction of detention center head Ma Ming. The seven other practitioners were also tortured in the detention center. Their families were forced to pay 30,000 to 60,000 yuan each before the practitioners were released on November 2, 2013.
Police Interrogate and Brutally Torture Ms. Wang Guixia, Over 70 Years Old
Ms. Wang Guixia refused to cooperate with the police, maintaining that she had broken no law. Though over 70 years old, she was brutally tortured while detained in a solitary confinement cell. She was injured and weak as a result of the abuse and had to be carried out of the detention center by her family members.
1. Interrogated at the Police Department
During the October 18 arrest, a female police officer searched Ms. Wang and took away her car key and home key. Policeman Shan Xuezhi and others ransacked her home at midnight and took away her grandson's computer, two speakers, one MP4 player, cell phone and wireless mouse.
Policeman Shan Xuezhi interrogated Ms. Wang, who told him she cultivated Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and should be treated as a good person instead of a prisoner. She refused to answer Shan's questions or sign any documents. Shan said, “Even if you don't sign, we will still sentence you.” Ms. Wang shouted “Falun Dafa is good!” Shan slapped her face back and forth four times.
2. Sent to the Jinzhou Detention Center
Ms. Wang Guixia and other practitioners were sent to the Jinzhou City Detention Center on October 19, 2013. On the way to the detention center, practitioner Ms. Lou Mengli went into convulsions. Ms. Wang told policeman Bai Ning, “She is having severe convulsions. You should take her to the hospital.” Bai Ning replied, “Just leave her alone. We would rather she die. It will save us a lot of trouble.”
At the detention center, prison guard Shi Hong (female) forced the practitioners to stand facing the wall. Ms. Wang did not cooperate and said, “We are not prisoners.” A guard pulled out an electric baton and discharged it in order to scare her. Ms. Wang clarified the truth about Falun Gong to the guards. They ignored her and berated her. The guards ordered her to wear a prison vest. She refused. Guard Shi Hong ordered a few prisoners to forcibly put the vest on her. Then the guard handcuffed her hands to a window frame until 4 a.m. the next morning. Protesting the injustice, Ms. Wang Guixia continuously shouted, “Falun Dafa is good!”
The detention center did not give the practitioners any food for the entire day on October 19. Shi Hong also told Ms. Wang, “No more shouting. You must follow my orders to do the labor work.” Ms. Wang said, “I cannot do this. I did not break the law. All we did was talk to people for their own good. What's wrong with following Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance to be a good person? The police are wrong for arresting us.” Shi Hong said, “You are in my detention center and you need to follow my rules.” Ms. Wang said, “I cannot do that.”
3. Tortured and Put in Solitary Confinement
The guards called a few practitioners to draw their blood on October 21. A guard asked for Ms. Wang Guixia's name. She answered, “Dafa disciple.” The guard slapped her face twice and yelled at her. After the guard drew blood from practitioners, they prepared to take photos of them. Ms. Wang refused. Two inmates and two male guards forcibly took photos of her. Then they tried to take her fingerprints. She refused again.
On the way back to the detention cell, Ms. Wang shouted loudly all the way, “Falun Dafa is good. Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.” When she met guards, she told them that the Communist regime has been lying about Falun Gong. Deputy director of the detention center Wu Yan (female) came over and slapped her face repeatedly. Then, with director Ma Ming's approval, Wu Yan ordered Ms. Wang be put in a solitary confinement cell. The guards tied her arms and feet to a plank so she could not move.

The plank and the confinement cell were very cold. After three days of this torture, she had stiff and numb legs, abdominal pain, dizziness and vomiting, dry lips and dry mouth, and difficulty speaking.
When the guards removed the handcuffs and shackles from Ms. Wang, she could not move her legs. Her right leg was swollen and she could not walk. Later, guard Shi Hong ordered inmates to put a prisoner's vest on her, but Ms. Wang soon removed it. Every day it went back and forth like this. One day Shi Hong told the inmates to stitch the vest to her clothing, but she still tore it off.
4. Health Suffers from Continuous Torture
Police official Li Meishan and others came to interrogate Ms. Wang on the afternoon of October 28. Two inmates carried her to the stairs. A guard who still had a conscience said, “The old lady is in really bad shape. How can she get downstairs? Will we get blamed if something goes wrong?” Later he talked with the police officials and asked them to go upstairs to interrogate her.
On the way back to the confinement cell, Shi Hong did not allow the inmates to help Ms. Wang and ordered the inmates to remove her shoes and have her walk back with bare feet. Ms. Wang leaned against the wall and walked slowly with difficulty. Shi Hong criticized her for walking too slow and kept kicking her feet from behind. Guard Li Meishan and two other guards came to the confinement room and said, “Old lady, how come you are in such bad shape while you used to be so energetic?” Ms. Wang said, “It does not matter to me. I am a 70-year-old woman with many children and grandchildren. I completed my mission in life and I have already let go of life and death. But I worry about your future. You are all in the prime of life and have parents, wives and children. You have committed crimes in persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. How are you going to face justice in the future?” Li Meishan asked, “Where did you go on October 18?” Ms. Wang said, “I went to save the people.” Li Meishan then threatened her, saying, “Let me tell you, just for your case, we could sentence you to seven to eight years.” Ms. Wang told him, “Your words do not count.”
After Ms. Wang had been tortured in the confinement cell for eight days, she was sent back to the regular cell. Shi Hong continuously tried to force her to wear the prisoner's vest, report her prisoner number and do forced labor. Shi Hong ordered inmates Wang Jiaying and Hu Qiuxia to forcibly put the vest on her. Ms. Wang Guixia refused to comply. The inmates used tape to tightly wrap her arms and then forcibly put the vest on her. Ms. Wang almost passed out. After she recovered, she shouted “Falun Dafa is good!” Deputy director Wu Yan locked her in the solitary confinement cell again.
For the next eight days, Ms. Wang was detained in the confinement cell for most of the day and was only sent back to the regular cell at night. At night, when prisoners were supposed to call out their assigned number, Ms. Wang called out, “Dafa disciple Wang Guixia.” Prisoner Gao Hongchun slapped her and threatened, “If you do this again tomorrow, I will have every prisoner in the room slap your face.” One day some higher authorities came to the detention center for an inspection. Shi Hong was afraid that Ms. Wang would expose the crimes of the detention center and locked her in the confinement cell again and claimed it was because she did not report her prisoner number.
One morning, Shi Hong called all the inmates to the yard for forced labor. Ms. Wang Guixia said, “The China labor law says that people over 60 may retire from work and people over 70 take the bus for free. Why do you still want old people to do forced labor work?” Shi Hong shouted, “Shut up!” Ms. Wang said, “You broke the law while knowing the law.” Shi Hong slapped her face back and forth four times in front of everyone. Then Shi kicked Ms. Wang's ankle so hard that it swelled up for a long time and still has not fully healed. On the way back to the room, Shi Hong kicked her again.
Ms. Wang Guixia was repeatedly subjected to the torture of having her arms and legs bound while locked in the confinement room. Her health grew worse and worse every day. Her right leg became stiff and cold. Her arms hurt and she had convulsions at times. When her family came to the detention center to pick her up, her son had to carry her on his back to take her out of the detention center.
