According to the 2013 US State Department Human Rights Report on China, involuntarily psychiatric treatment is commonly used on prisoners of conscience. Over the past 14 years of persecution, Falun Gong practitioners in China have been subjected to political abuse of psychiatry, as well as arbitrary arrest, sentencing, brainwashing, harassment and extortion. 2014 is proving to be more of the same.
