Arrested by Police
On June 10, 2013, the Qinhuangdao Police Department arrested seventeen Falun Dafa practitioners. They attempted to arrest practitioner Ms. Shang Xiujun, but she was able to escape. Ms. Shang was forced to leave her home to avoid arrest.
Later, in July 2013, Shimen County police went to Ms. Shang's house to arrest her, but she left home to avoid them. The police followed her to the home of her sister, but Ms. Shang was able to escape once again. At this point her family was very frightened but hoped she could return home for the Chinese New Year. Her family could not imagine that the county police would behave like thugs, and attempt to arrest her again. On February 12, 2014, Ms. Shang returned to her home to celebrate the lunar new year with her family. Unfortunately, police forcibly broke into her home at that time and arrested her.
Cured of Cancer after Practicing
Ms. Shang is well known in her area because she was twice cured of cancer by practicing Falun Dafa. In May of 1999, she began her practice. At the time she was suffering from ovarian cancer, but shortly after she started practicing, she was cured. Her gratitude for Dafa was immense. However, in July 1999, when the Chinese Communist Party initiated the persecution, she was pressured into giving up the practice.
Four years later, Ms. Shang was diagnosed with rectal cancer. The doctors said she would need surgery immediately. She was only 35 at the time, and her son was 12. She had to take care of her mother-in-law. Her family relied on her husband for their only source of income. It was unimaginable to spend more money, but Ms. Shang's family borrowed 5,000 yuan and planned to take her to the hospital for surgery the next day.
But that day she ran into several practitioners, who encouraged her to cultivate again after they heard about her situation. They reminded her, “Didn't you practice Falun Dafa before? Falun Dafa teaches one to be a good person and also gives one good health. Do you still have the book Zhuan Falun? Go home and carefully read it. Resume your cultivation.”
Ms. Shang then went home and studied Zhuan Falun, and she experienced immediate changes. She felt a Falun rotating and cleansing her body. She coughed up a large amount of black blood, and after a night's sleep, she felt healthy again. She was examined again, and the cancerous lump had disappeared. Her whole family witnessed the miraculousness of Dafa again and were very moved.
Resuming Cultivation
Ms. Shang again experienced the wonders and compassion of Dafa and was even more grateful to Master and Falun Dafa. She then seriously started to follow the principles of Falun Dafa, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. She resumed her efforts to cultivate herself and became a good person. She also shared her miraculous experiences with other people, hoping that more people could benefit from cultivation. For the last several years she has been clarifying the truth to people around her.
