(Minghui.org) Due to the persecution of Falun Gong, I wasn't able to get my bachelor's diploma after graduation, so it wasn't easy for me to find a job. At the time, I rented a place in a city away from my hometown with my mother, who is also a practitioner. Our finances were tight.
Yet we strived to do the three things we are required to do as practitioners and didn't worry too much. We lived simply and were happy.
I started looking for a job and found one with a company editing articles. After I started working, I realized that many articles were submitted by professionals in education. Many of them were schoolteachers and contained information that distorted or slandered Falun Gong. I usually deleted that content immediately.
I was afraid sometimes, because each submission usually went through four editors. If one editor found out that another one had edited out sentences without any grammatical errors, he or she might talk to our supervisor. However, as a Falun Gong practitioner, how could I allow such content to be published and harm more people? I asked Master for help and sent righteous thoughts. Miraculously, my deletions were never questioned.
Afterward, I would take down the mailing addresses of those authors and mail them truth-clarification letters.
Once I got an article where a large portion of it slandered Falun Gong. I knew that I wouldn't be able to delete so many characters without anyone noticing and that I should speak directly to the editor-in-chief. However, I was afraid of losing my job. In the end, I made up my mind: “Even if it means that I lose my job, I cannot allow this to be published and harm others.”
I said to the editor-in-chief, “Would you please review this part? I would like to delete it.” He scanned it and said, “OK.” He didn't even ask any questions. Such things usually didn't happen, so I consequently managed to delete a great deal of content that defamed Falun Gong.
After the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party was published in 2004, I knew I couldn't continue in that job, since I had to read a lot of material full of Chinese Communist Party (CCP) culture. I decided to resign and take another editing job.
My child was born, and the company found a replacement for me. I had to look for a new job after my maternity leave. I thought that, since I was already over 30, editing jobs might not be so easy to find.
Once I was shopping in a supermarket, and I overheard the staff members talking about how a supervisor wasn't good at expressing himself. I suddenly said to myself, “I am quite eloquent.” I soon found another job because I had this talent.
After I started the position, I was quickly promoted to junior manager and later general manager. I often clarified the truth to my contacts. I thought, “No matter what wishes we have, Master arranges such opportunities for us to develop ourselves and use our talents to speak to people about the facts and save people.”
After some time, I thought the job was too time-consuming. I thought that it would be great if I could find a flexible job with the same salary. I immediately shook it off and thought, “How could that happen? Where could one find such a job?”
However, I soon really did find that job that was much more flexible and not so busy. I had time to do the three things, and the salary was the same. My wishes had really come true! Of course, the precondition is that, as a Falun Gong practitioner, I always place doing the three things first and foremost. Master then arranged all of the above for me.
I know that many fellow practitioners share my thought, “It is such a blessing to cultivate in the Fa.”
