(Minghui.org) I am a Dafa disciple from a rural area. I began practicing in 1998. I was recently arrested by plainclothes police while I was clarifying the truth at a fair. I would like to share my experience on this with fellow practitioners.
I went to a market fair on the morning of December 4 with a fellow practitioner to clarify the truth and distribute truth-clarification calendars and brochures. After a while we realized that we were being followed by a plainclothes police officer.
I was arrested when the fellow practitioner went into a bank to pay her phone bill. As soon as she came out, a plainclothes officer tried to catch her. We learned later that this fellow practitioner was being followed since she arrived at the market. In order to protect her I began struggling very hard and shouted "Falun Dafa is good!" The plainclothes officer then hurried back to me fearing that one officer could not hold me. The fellow practitioner took the opportunity to escape, and got home safely. She then contacted several other practitioners, asking them to help send forth righteous thoughts for me.
The police took me into a small room, where they threatened and intimidated me, and also beat me. I sent forth righteous thoughts and clarified the truth to them. Since I didn't cooperate with them, they took me to the police station. They closed the curtains and continued to intimidate and beat me. However, I refused to cooperate with them, and did not let them take photos of me.
In order to stop them from persecuting me, I held up my arms and shouted, "Falun Dafa is good!" Then something miraculous happened. All the evildoers who were abusing me suddenly froze and stopped beating me. After a while, one of them said, "We forgot to put handcuffs on her. Let’s just leave and let her yell." Then they left.
I then started to search within to see where I had not cultivated well enough. I also sent forth righteous thoughts and asked Master to help strengthen me. I firmly believed Master’s teaching:
“...just by having your heart unaffected you will be able to handle all situations.” (“Eliminate Your Last Attachment(s)” from Essentials for Further Advancement II)
When they saw that I would not follow their orders, they took me to the detention center intending to further persecute me.
In the detention center, they wanted me to have a physical examination. My first thought was to refuse. But my second thought was to ask for Master’s help to create an illusion of sickness during the physical examination. After the examination, I was found with the symptoms of severe hypertension and heart disease. The person in the detention center refused to accept me due to my “sickness.” So, the police said, “We'll have to send you back home.”
As soon as I heard this I relaxed, and the attachment of zealotry emerged. They suddenly changed their minds and planned to detain me. I realized that this happened because of my zealotry. I immediately sent forth righteous thoughts, recited the Fa, and became determined to negate the evil's arrangements.
After I was escorted back to the detention center, I continued clarifying the truth, sending forth righteous thoughts, and asking Master to help me. Just as Master taught,
"The Fa can break all attachments, the Fa can destroy all evil, the Fa can shatter all lies, and the Fa can strengthen righteous thoughts." (“Drive Out Interference” from Essentials for Further Advancement II)
Thus, with Master’s help and fellow practitioners' righteous thoughts I returned home at 9:00 p.m. I had been detained for ten hours.
Through this tribulation, I realized that although I did some Dafa work well on the surface, I had not cultivated myself well. Especially at home, I had not paid attention to my cultivation, and had not controlled myself. I could not discern my true self from my false self. This was my major problem which caused this tribulation.
I learned from this lesson that I need to closely combine truth clarification with my cultivation. I can do the three things well only by cultivating myself well and not allowing myself to be interfered with. This is what I enlightened to through this incident.
