(Minghui.org) Ms. Wang Jingmian, 72, a Falun Gong practitioner from Anping County, Hebei Province, was arrested for the sixth time on April 6, 2014, when she was distributing Falun Gong truth-clarification materials. The police poured cold water over her and beat her.

Ms. Wang was taken to the office of Sun Yihe, the director of the local Domestic Security Division. Sun searched her bag and found Falun Gong materials and some currency bills with messages about Falun Gong written on them.

Sun asked Ms. Wang where she got the materials but she refused to answer. Sun got so angry that he scooped up water from the fish tank and poured it over her. Then a young officer began slapping her with both hands and cursing Falun Gong.

Ms. Wang calmly told the officers the facts about Falun Gong and was released that day.

One-Year Prison Term Following Fifth Arrest

During the Beijing Olympic Games in the summer of 2008, Anping County officials harassed and arrested many Falun Gong practitioners. Zhang Yueqi, the Party secretary of Anping Town, and Sun Xiaofang, the birth-control officer, went to Ms. Wang's home on the morning of July 19, 2008. They ransacked it and confiscated all of her Falun Gong belongings. They also tried to arrest her but she resisted with all her strength, and they were unable to.

Four days later, however, three plainclothes officers arrested Ms. Wang while she was getting her hair cut at a beauty salon. She was held in a detention center, and her family was not allowed to visit her. The village official told them that she would be released after the Olympic Games.

When Ms. Wang's family talked to the village officer to ask for her release after the Olympic Games, he tried to extort money from them. Shortly after, they learned that Ms. Wang had been sentenced to a one year in prison on August 23, 2013, and transferred to Shijiazhuang Prison.

Four Arrests from 2000 to 2006

Ms. Wang, from Zhangzhuang Village, began practicing Falun Gong in 1998. After the onset of the persecution, she was repeatedly arrested.

Anping Town officials, including Wang Qiang, the director of Anping Town Police Station, broke into Ms. Wang's home in July 2000 and arrested her. She was detained at the Anping Detention Center. After they extorted 3,000 yuan from her family, she was released a few days later.

Wang Qiang and other officials from Zhangzhuang Village arrested Ms. Wang again and took her to the Anping Brainwashing Center in the spring of 2001. She was later transferred to a detention center, where she developed severe scabies because of the unhygienic conditions. The detention center officials released her on medical parole after extorting 2,000 yuan from her family.

Ms. Wang was arrested for the third time in 2004 for posting a Falun Gong poster on an electricity pole. Officer Hou Dajian from the local police department beat her. The detention center officials refused to accept her when they saw her condition. Hou got angry and beat her again. Ms. Wang passed out during the beating, and the police dumped her outside the station while she was still unconscious.

Youzi Township Police Station officers, including Wang Jinzhong and Wu Yanduo, arrested Ms. Wang and several other Falun Gong practitioners in October 2006 for distributing truth-clarification materials in Youzi Township. She was handcuffed and beaten. The practitioners were transferred to the Anping Detention Center on October 28. She was released 15 days later.
