(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 14 cities or counties in 10 provinces. According to this report, 17 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 8 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Huanggang City, Hubei Province] Homes of Ms. Wang Guilan and Elder Ms. Yu Ransacked

Chief Wan Huiya, Yu Bing and four other officers from the Huangzhou District Domestic Security Division broke into Ms. Wang Guilan's home on the afternoon of May 6, 2014 and confiscated over 20,000 yuan in cash, photos of Falun Gong founder Mr. Li Hongzhi, Falun Gong books and other items. They also confiscated from elderly Ms. Yu's home photos of Mr. Li Hongzhi, Falun Gong books and more.

2. [Chongqing] Four Practitioners Detained

Ms. Xu Xiaoqin is being held in the Yongchuan District Detention Center. Mr. Tang Fenghua, Mr. Zheng Bangdi and Mr. Luo Mingyou were arrested on April, 10, 2013 and taken to the same detention center and they have now been transferred.

3. [Pingdingshan City, Henan Province] Ms. Bai Huayun Harassed

Ms. Bai Huayun, in her 70s, from Weidong District, Pingdingshan City, was arrested by officers from the Wuyilu Police Station for distributing Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs in their local area. She was held in the Pingdingshan Detention Center where her lower body became disabled. She was released on medical parole.

However, agents from the local residential committee and the local community office often harassed her under various guises, and even forced her family to take her to the local residential committee so that she could “report her thoughts.”

Agents from the Weidong District Procuratorate harassed her recently at home again. The Weidong District 610 Office authorities are planning to have Ms. Bai sentenced.

4. [Baoji City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Jiang Baozhu Arrested

Ms. Jiang Baozhu was reported to the police and arrested for speaking about Falun Gong on the evening of May 7, 2014. Plainclothes officers attempted to ransack her home that evening. To expose and stop their crimes, Ms. Jiang's daughter shouted at the door and caused many neighbors to come out to watch. The officers immediately ran away, apprehensively and cowardly.

5. [Chenxi County, Hunan Province] Ms. Shi Shenglan and Ms. Song Zhuohua Harassed

Agents from the Chenxi County 610 Office harassed Ms. Shi Shenglan on May 8, 2014 at her home in Tang Township, Huangxikou Town. They then broke into Ms. Song Zhuohua's home in Huangxikou Town, without presenting any documents, confiscated a TV receiver, informational materials about Falun Gong and copies of articles written by Falun Gong's founder Mr. Li Hongzhi.

6. [Tongzi County, Guizhou Province] Mr. Jiang Maosong Arrested

Mr. Jiang Maosong was arrested on the afternoon of May 4, 2014 by officers from the State Security Bureau at his workplace, Tongzi County No.1 High School.

7. [Benxi City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhong Weiqin, Ms. Niu Sanchun and Ms. Wang Guilan Arrested

Ms. Zhong Weiqin, 50, Ms. Niu Sanchun, 63, and Ms. Wang Guilan, 73, were arrested by officers from the Hexi Police Station on the morning of May 5, 2014, for distributing Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs in the Xihu District. They were taken to the police station and their homes were ransacked. Ms. Wang was released that evening due to her senior age. Ms. Zhong and Ms. Niu were detained, each for a term of 15 days.

8. [Linshui County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Mei Qiongrong Arrested

About six officers broke into Ms. Mei Qiongrong's vendor booth on the third floor of the Jianxin Farmer's Market on the morning of April 13, 2014. Without presenting any credentials, they searched through the booth and confiscated a copy of Zhuan Falun, Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs and other items. Officers took Ms. Mei to the Chengdong Police Station, interrogated her and had her photographed. They released her at around 3 pm that day.

9. [Beijing] Ms. Zheng Baoling Arrested

Ms. Zheng Baoling, head nurse at the Endocrinology Department of Shijiazhuang City No.3 Hospital in Hebei Province, went to Beijing on business and was arrested there on April 25, 2014, for posting informational materials about Falun Gong. No further details about her arrest are available.

10. [Handan City, Hebei Province] Mr. Wang Zhiwu Detained

Mr. Wang Zhiwu was arrested on the morning of May 5, 2014 and was released the next afternoon. He was arrested again on the morning of May 8 by armed officers from the Liandong Police Station. He was taken to the No.2 Detention Center.

11. [Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Pan Mingyue, Mr. Chen Shuli and Mr. Zhang Shu Detained

Officers from the Harbin and the Shuangcheng Domestic Security Division went to Xinmin Village in Xinxing Township on the morning of May 8, 2014 and arrested Ms. Pan Mingyue, Ms. Chen Shuli and Mr. Zhang Shu. The arrested practitioners are being held in the Shuangcheng Detention Center.

12. [Xian City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Li Yanfang Arrested

Ms. Li Yanfang from Shanxi Province was working in Xian City. She was arrested by officers from the Xiaozhai Police Station while visiting her friend's home in the Xian Politics and Law University on the evening of April 26, 2014. Officers broke the door and window, barged into her friend's home, and arrested both Ms. Li and her friend. They also ransacked the friend's home. Officers from the Sanqiao Police Station ransacked Ms. Li's rented residence and confiscated a printer, a computer, books and more.

13. [Beijing] Ms. Xu Dafang Arrested

Ms. Xu Dafang, 60, lives in a dormitory at the Beijing Police Department Dongcheng Branch. She was arrested at the end of March, 2014 for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong in a Walmart Superstore. The Fengtai District Procuratorate issued a warrant for her arrest on April 18, 2014.

14. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Deng Xinqiang and Ms. Zeng Peichun Arrested on May 5, 2014

15. [Wanyuan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Tang Yuting Detained

Ms. Tang Yuting, 63, and Ms. Li Zhichun, 70, from Shilingzi Village, Dazhu Town were arrested by officers from the Wanyuan Police Department State Security Bureau and the Miaozi Township Police Station. Ms. Tang is being held in the Wanyuan No.2 Detention Center. Ms. Li was interrogated in the Dazhuhe Police Station and then released on the afternoon of the same day.
