(Minghui.org) Editor's note: A female practitioner was arrested by plainclothes officers on March 14, 2014, because she put up information about Falun Gong and its persecution in a village. She was detained for 21 days and an officer from the Laizhou City 610 Office in Shandong Province threatened to harvest her organs. Ms. Hou Xueling describes her mistreatment.
As I was going around putting up truth clarification stickers in Dongfangbei Village on March 14, 2014, Qin Wentao, a plainclothes officer noticed what I was doing and followed me on his motorcycle. He stopped me and called for backup. Wang Songlin and Wang Guozheng came in a police van and took me to the village police station. They said that they were in charge of arresting Falun Gong practitioners.
I was later taken to the Chengtuo Town Police Station and locked in a small room. Liu Jingbing and Wang Weiguang from the Laizhou City Domestic Security Division arrived half an hour later. A female officer searched me and took all of the cash that I had on me.
I was transferred to the Dianzi Brainwashing Center, where Liu Jingbing handcuffed me to a metal bed frame. Liu and officers Cheng Jiangtao and Zhang Cheng from the Laizhou 610 Office took turns interrogating me. I told Zhang that I was on my period and needed some sanitary pads. He agreed to get some, but did not return. When Cheng Jiangtao came into the room, I asked to go to the restroom so I wouldn't dirty the bedsheets. But he simply said, “Don't think about going anywhere if you don't give us a confession.”
At around 10:00 p.m. I dragged the bed to the window. I opened it and shouted to the guards: “It is my right to have freedom of belief. Unlock these handcuffs. I need to use the restroom.” I could heard them playing mahjong, but they ignored me. I could no longer hold it and urinated in the room. Cheng tried to humiliate me by saying, “You practice Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Why didn't you hold it?”
Late at night, I heard a female practitioner moaning in pain. It was bitterly cold and there was no heat.
The next morning, a female practitioner, who was being held next door to me, passed by in the hallway. I asked her for some sanitary pads through the window. When the guard heard me talking to her, he shouted at her.
That practitioner and another one were transferred to a detention center the same day and held for 15 days. I later found out that they were Ms. Ji Yunfeng and Ms. Jia Shoufang.
Cheng Jiangtao told me that my mother was in the waiting room and wanted to see me. But Cheng said that I first had to answer their questions to record a confession. When I went to the waiting room 20 minutes later, my mother had already gone home. Cheng said that the previous night a practitioner had come to the brainwashing center to look for me and requested my release, but to no avail.
On the way back to the office, Cheng asked me if I had put information about live organ harvesting in my informational materials. He then threatened me, “You are so young, your kidneys should be excellent. We might remove both of them. If you still don't cooperate, we will take you to Jinan City Prison, where your organs will be harvested.”
That afternoon, Liu took me to a classroom at the brainwashing center and forced me to listen to some of their propaganda defaming Falun Gong. After a short while, he turned it off and started criticizing me. He threatened me again three days later, saying, “Whether or not you cooperate with us, we can send you directly to Jinan City Prison whenever we want.”
Wang Laizhen, head of the Laizhou 610 Office, and agents from the Yantai City 610 Office, came to the Dianzi Brainwashing Center on the fifth day of my detention and talked to some of the male practitioners held there.
Cheng Jiangtao told me the following night that I could leave the next day. Liu told me to bring my personal belongings, and we went to the police vehicle on the morning of the seventh day, which was March 20, 2014. I thought I was being released and insisted on leaving with a male practitioner, who was the last one held at the brainwashing center. Zhang urged me to leave quickly. However, as I was about to leave, I was told that I would be detained for another 15 days. I was then taken to the detention center.
A few days later, I was told to go to the office at the detention center and pay 5,000 yuan, otherwise, I would be taken back to the Dianzi Brainwashing Center. At that time, I had abdominal pain and had to stay in the restroom for a long time. They got impatient and left.
A few days later, the heads of our town and village again told me to go to the office at the detention center and wanted 5,000 yuan. When I asked them who wanted the money and for what purpose, Yuan Qingrui, an officer of the Political and Legal Affairs Committee, said that he wanted the money. Six officers surrounded me and the head of our village said, “If you do not pay it, all of your welfare payments will be stopped.” I was then forced to write a guarantee statement and a note that I owed the money.
At the detention center, we were given only a steamed bun and a few pieces of salted and dried turnip strip, for which we were required to pay 10 yuan. For lunch, when we asked for a bowl of cabbage and rice noodles, it cost us 20 yuan. Other dishes were more expensive.
A woman in a white lab coat and mask came on April 2, 2014, saying that she was from the vaccination center and wanted to get blood samples to do some tests. During that time, I had diarrhea and was emaciated. I refused to give blood, but she and a male doctor forcibly took it anyway. As a result, I felt dizzy and was extremely weak, and had to stay in bed all day.
One time, another doctor called two practitioners out of the same room and took their blood pressure.
When I was able to return home, my 74-year-old mother was very sick. She had been taken to the village office to be interrogated. They threatened to search my home. My mother was so frightened that she had to go to the hospital.
A doctor from another village felt bad for my mother, and some good people bought us fruit and eggs. Others gave some cash so that my mother could receive treatment. Some people also spoke out and let others know the facts about Falun Gong. I would like to thank those friends and neighbors.
