(Minghui.org) The Parliament Buildings in Victoria, British Columbia, is a famous tourist spot in western Canada, attracting a lot of Chinese people every day.
On May 18 and 19, Falun Gong practitioners from Vancouver held a series of activities in front of the Parliament Buildings, telling people about Falun Gong and helping them quit the communist party.
Practitioners also participated in the Victoria Day parade, and were given awards for Best Performance and Best Float.

Many tourists stopped by the practitioners' booth. Some of them signed on the petition to condemn the persecution of Falun Gong in China, and some of them learned the exercises.
Ms. Xiong, a local practitioner, said: “Many Chinese tourists talked to us. They were happy to learn about what Falun Gong really is. They were also glad to quit the communist party after talking to us. In a matter of a few hours, I helped more than 20 people quit the party.”
A Chinese family of three generations passed by the practitioners' event. The grandfather, a veteran member of the Chinese Communist Party, came to the practitioners with a big smile, saying loudly, “Falun Dafa is good.”
He talked to a practitioner for a long time. “I have been a member for several decades, and I know very well how evil the party is. It's really ridiculous that the party persecutes Falun Gong, a group of people who just want to be good citizens in society. Heaven will punish them,” he said, “I don't practice Falun Gong, but I am strongly against the persecution.”
He continued: “The book The Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party is really well written. It thoroughly reveals the evil nature of the party. The party not only persecutes Falun Gong, but also has tortured and killed millions of Chinese people in its history.”
He supports the Falun Gong practitioners' peaceful resistance, and their efforts to disintegrate the party. “I have encountered Falun Gong practitioners many times in Canada. Every time they gave me a copy of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party. I always accepted it, because I want my friends and relatives to read it, too.”
The old gentleman repeated several times that Falun Gong practitioners are doing a good deed for the whole country and people.
His son has also quit the party. Before leaving, the grandfather said to practitioners again that he supports Falun Gong and that Falun Dafa is good.
Some Chinese students also talked to the practitioners. They were shocked by the brutality of the persecution, especially the organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners in China. Many of them quit the party after talking with the practitioners.
On May 19, practitioners participated in the Victoria Day parade, which has a history of 116 years. One hundred and forty groups were in the parade this year, and more than 40,000 people watched it.
Falun Gong's entry consisted of the Divine Land Marching Band, a waist drum team, a float, and an exercise demonstration team. Practitioners were given awards for Best Performance and Best Float.
